July/August Truck Trend
I didn't expect too much from this publication, save a few positive notes about my beloved TITAN, and maybe some cool spy shots of a Stillen or Nismo version. What did I get? A paid advertisement for GM's crappy Silverado truck. Seems GM will do all they can to promote that outdated platform before they come out with a "new" one.
Because of my disgust for such a "magazine", I wrote a letter to the editor. It's probably too long to get published, and shows too much of the truth. I think I'll write anther one regarding the Ridgeline article and it's obvious contraction with their reasoning behind the 2004 Truck of the Year.
Forgot "Paid Advertisement" Title
I recently picked up a copy of the July/August issue of Truck Trend, hoping to find the latest information about the truck world. Instead, I was greeted by what looked more like a paid advertisement from GM. You devoted three separate articles spanning 11 pages covering the latest offerings from GM’s antiquated Silverado truck. You sing the praises of a $36K+ RWD “SS” truck that can barely outrun an $18K base model Nissan Titan, and top that with another article about a $32K “Special Order RST” Silverado that is all show and no go.
Promote all the Siverados and racing stripes you want; I’ll stick with my Titan and leave the racing stripes where they belong: on the pavement. Next issue try promoting some real news and articles worth reading, or expect to see your magazine in the same desperate and failing situation as Ford and GM.
