12-volt Power Outlets

I noticed something today that others may or may not already know...

I picked up the Roady2 XM unti last night. Which by the way sounds GREAT playing through the AUX input.

Anyway, I plugged the Roady into the 12-volt outlet on the driver's side, and when I turned the Titan off, completely off, it stays on. BUTT!! when I plug it into the passenger side 12-voly outlet, it turns off when the truck shuts off. Pretty cool!!!

Today is my fifth month anniversary of buying the truck (Jan 4th), and I just learned something new!

Good find, but that is a known fact about the Titan. One switched outlet and one unswitched outlet.

I use the driver side (un-switched) to charge my cell phone. This way even the truck is off, my cellphone is still charging.

I too keep the cell phone charging in the drivers side outlet that stays on. You'll also notice that the outlet in the bed (if so equipped) also stays on when the key is off.

Anytime. Comes in handy when using the air pump on the kids bike tires etc. Nice not to have to fish for keys to do so.

I just discovered this myself yesterday.

Was needing to charge the cell and when I pulled into the office, I shut the truck off an stuck the charger into the passenger side outlet. WTF?? Tinkered with the cord thinking I didn't have it plugged in completely or something. Finally tried it in the drivers side and Bingo.

Kinda odd.

I did know the one in the bed is on all the time. I use it at the flying field to charge my R/C helicopter. Comes in very handy to set it on the tailgate instead of try to position it on the engine compartment.
