Funny!! Thanks Stick...
I used to be the same about my Chevvies, but saw the light after driving a Titan. Drove a friend's F150 the other day and just couldn't believe how sluggish it felt.

I am now less intelegent after reading those posts.

Rice this, rice that. Im better. No, im better. Sounds like a board full of high school dropouts.

I for one believe that All current 1/2 tons on the market are wonderful pieces of engineering. However, the Titan fits my needs and does so beyond my expectations.

Wow, they do not get along at all over there. Very interesting reading though. Its as if they dont want to give in and face the fact we do have the better vehicle. I understand loyalty to the end but when there is a better product for less money..... one has to wonder what some are after.

That was the thread that spurred on the "pull-off" between the Titan and the F-150. A person that freqents this forum was claiming that the Titan can out-do the F-150 in about anything, and I'll venture to say it probably can in most areas. But they got to the point of being rediculous and claiming the Titan is faster than most all the sedans currently made. I asked for numbers to prove it but wasn't provided with any info. I am brand loyal, but not to the extent of being blinded that other brands may have better vehicles. But when a claim is made and no proof is given, it makes it hard to believe and makes people think that person is there to just cause trouble.

First of all i never said it was faster than almost all sedans made. I did say it was and it is faster than the list of sedans sombody posted, im not sure if it was you or not but it is. The sedans named were the taurus, camry, maxima, and i believe buick lasabre.
There was one more but i cant remember. None of the above cars would beat the titan except nissans own maxima and even it would have a hard time especially off the line. The buick would do well and probably beat it if its equiped with the SC but without it theres no chance. All the FORD guys on there site said the above sedans would dust the titan, not true.

My only question is, how do you know this is true??
Truck-to-truck I can see the Titan winning, it has a good motor and tranny, but to a lighter car, I just find it hard to believe.
I know the Maxima is a VERY nice car, ridden in one and thoroughly impressed with the power and just the overall car.
The Titan is fast, for a truck. Sometimes I think I'm fast and can beat cars, but then I remember I'm a 7500lb lead weight rolling on 4 wheels, compared to 3000lbs I don't stand a chance.

Your right, havent seen any of those sedans run a titan, just going by times ive seen. The taurus is around 8 sec to 60 and so is the camry. The 3.8 in the impalas have good get up but there also sub 8 sec cars.
The maxima can do high 6s to low 7s to 60 as well as the SC equiped buick.
Its not typical but caranddriver did get a 6.9 0 to 60 run out of there 4wd crew cab titan and most run of the mill sedans dont do that. I would say the average is 7.5 for the titan and probably because traction is limitied if you stomp it off the line.
THe titans heavier brother the armada consisitently gets low 7s to 60 possibly because of the added weight over the rear and its independent axle.

I read that thread last week.

I found it interesting, some of the things that are said. I wonder who the abmobil 'guy' is? Sounds like a Titan person for sure!

Some of the responses by the Ford people are very typical. "Throw 1500 lbs. in it and see how it does". Like a Ford is the only truck that can haul 1500 lbs.-get real.

People live in vaccuums way too much...

You are right there, I have the Impala with the 3.8 200 hp V6, and it want keep up with my Titan, now I believe that they have the supercharger on some of the new impalas, 240 hp. It should beat the Titan.

I need an F-150

Dear god after reading those posts, what would compel you to buy a FORD? Even the guys who drive them bag on them when it comes to running a Titan. I was ROFL the whole time I was reading the posts, and what is even more hilarious is that it goes on and on page after page.

So after reading how slow the F-150 is off the line, how its slower 0-60 with a 800lb tow load and overall fit and finish are not up to Titan standards, I think I need to go check out one of these amazing F-150's. Anybody else with me? Maybe we could get a good deal on a group buy.

Yeah, I'm not understanding that thread either. When I was shopping trucks, I drove Tundra, Chevy, F150, Dodge & Titan. The acceleration difference between the F150 & Titan was marked and obvious, a fact that has since been documented in many truck articles. When that fact is mentioned in the F150 thread, they either "Question Reality" or start talking about a blown F150 vs. a normally aspirated Titan.

Regarding F150 pulling a Titan, I don't have 100% faith in the Titan's front & rear differentials, but the F150 may have some drivetrain problems also:

This is one of the great things about the titans, the fact that its so large and can hang with if not outrun many not ALL but many smaller cars you wouldnt expect it to.
