dash brake, VDC OFF, Slip and ABS lights all lit up?

I ran some wires this weekend and didn't hook anything up to power. I had the center console apart and ran wires out under the NAV unit under the passenger seat. I took the drivers and passenger seats out to get easier access. I also ran a 12ga wire through the hood release. Before I did anything with the seats I unhooked the neg on the battery. After I had the wires going I put the seats back and hooked the battery back up so I could slide them forward and run the cables the rest of the way to the back end.....well this took some time and when I went to start it barely turned over and it had to be jumped (I had the doors open to long I guess).

Anyway I now have the VDC OFF, SLIP, ABS and Brake light lit up on the dash. My navigation now only show the vehicle sitting in one place and spinning around as I turn. My trip odo doesn't register on the dash nor the NAV. I'm guess it has something to do with the speed sensor but can't figure out how I could of done something that would F' it up?????

Any ideas where to start looking? is there a fuse possibly?

Just noticed this morning that the speedometer doesn't work either? I dug this out of the service manual. Any ideas where the M24 harness is? Is it connected to the intrument cluster?

I'm at a lost for what may be the problem. My first guess is that somehow I damaged the VSS wire coming from the nav unit under the passenger seat where it goes under the console. I did cut away some plastic there with a hacksaw but thought I was careful and didn't feel any wire near the area I trimed away? It's possible though I could of nicked it I guess. The other possiblity is that I somehow bumped something loose in the engine compartment where I threaded the wire through the firewall via the hood release cable gromet. If I can verify a bad wire I can do some digging. I just don't feel like tearing the console apart not knowing the problem is under there.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

Power Off

Have you tried pulling the negative cable off the battery again and just leaving it for 20-30 mins?

When I had my 350Z, I had my battery drain like that - I hooked up a charger without disconnecting the battery cables (yeah, I know, stupid) and I had no interior lights at all. I checked the fuses, etc. - I finally guessed that the BCM (body control module) was "corn-fused" and pulled the neg. cable. After about 15 mins. I reconnected it - all was well.

Something similar might have happened in your case - who knows... it might be an easy fix if you haven't tried it already...

Good luck!

I unhooked the positive for about 30min, didn't help. I unhooked both tonight and will let it set overnight. I have little hope it will work though.

On another note how the hell do you get to the M24 harness. I don't see it looking from under the dash? Where is it exactly, upper right corner when you are looking at the dash?

I suspect when I was shoving wires under the console that I may of pulled a wire out of a harness under there. That will be a good weekend job tearing the console down to get under there!

I think the M24 is on the bottom right side of the cluster. Look straight up from under the dash to the right of the steering column...I think it is a brown connector.

The brake actuator control unit went out. they replaced it and everything was good again. They said nothing I did would of caused the unit to fail....and I wasn't going to argue as warranty paid for it and the rental. I don't know if it was a matter of all the consult II work they did but as a side effect my avg mpg on the NAV is now matching up with what I really am getting. It had always been registering a good 1 to 1.5mpg more than I was getting....as a down side I still only get 11.5mpg...90% city.

Yea I told them what I had done, which wasn't anything but layout some wiring to hook up my PC. I didn't hook into any factory wiring at all. I thought for sure it was something that just needed reset due to having the driverseat out and turning on the key maybe. Where you actually cut into some factory wires.....I'd be more nervous, you could not tell them but if they find where you were modifing, it will probably P them off and then you are stuck paying if they can in anyway say you caused the failure. or just tell them, you still might get stuck paying but it might be a faster trouble shoot and you won't get hit with like a 30hr labor bill for a 0.01 cent piece of electric tape for that one little wire that wasn't connected??????

Thanks for letting me know what you did. I was able to fix the problem though. I had blown a fuse. 1 fuse and my abs, cruise control, e-lock, and limited slip dont work! I hate electronics. THanks again though
