New Brakes

I want to buy an SE KC sometime in July and want to know if I can tell if the new brake design is on the truck, is there a way to visually tell other than pulling the wheel?

I realize that there are other posts out there but I have had no luck trying to find them, I really would like to know what to look for to see if the new brakes are on the vehicle. Any help would be appreciated.
I would like to start shopping soon but I want to be loaded with the right information.

The easiest way I found to know if you have the newest fix it. The outer brake shim is shiny tin colored. The old type shim is back coated.
