Needless to say, I too am a little dissapointed...
I was planning for the Nismo anyway.
If the Nismo turns out to be that expensive, I'll just seek power elsewhere.
I was trying to alot 6-7k for the blower, headers, tuned exhaust and couple of other small things, but I guess I'm going back to sleep now!!

At 6G, it is a bit steep so....I'm taking the same route as Titan4x4Aggie. Next on my mod list: equal length headers then i'll play the "waiting" game. I'm hoping in about 2 years the price would come down just like any other product. Also gives them (Stillen) time to de-bug the system or straighten out the "kinks".

I'm thinking like you gr8titan. I'll get the headers and wait about a year to see how the s/c performs on the street.

I'll also be waiting for the nismo s/c.

Well I as I feared, Steve Millen would live up to their reputation. Stealin. For 6 ger, I will look elsewhere for power. I can do a lot of mods for that price.

If we are dissapointed now, wait till you spens a grand on long tubes, and see little to NO gains. Headers are way overrated on new vehicles.

I disagree with you on the long tube headers. A lot more gain than the "shorties". Look at what a set of long tubes do for an LS1 as far as torque goes. As for that, they really helped my wifes Tahoe as well.

I'm not buying headers without dyno plots to back them up.

And when I do, I'm planning on a few other mods to suppliment them, maybe a chip upgrade / ECU flash if necessary. Still, all that will be 1/2 the price of the stillen, and provide a good amount of HP. It will also sound great, and make good conversation.

Regardless, if you go with headers, exhaust and intake, you have items that will still work with the nitrous or supercharger.

Who knows. Maybe GReddy will have a twin turbo setup for the Titan by then

I was on the list but the reality is that I can do a lot with 7K, so I am no longer on it. I'm going to wait to see what's next.

I think I will go with the JBA headers. That’s been shown to give a 40+ hp gain in itself. I can do that for about a $900-$1000 installed.

I agree with Head in that there are now some new things for the Titan that can now be done. That's itself is great.

I'll be curious as to who is next on the SC list. My bet would be Nismo or Whipple.

Where? Every post I've ever seen about those headers was no gain at all, don't buy them, wait for long tubes. Shorty headers do nothing on my vette either. Please prove me wrong so I can think about getting them.

As for the SC package, I'm disappointed. We have a good base to start with. LT1 Vettes with SC gain about 60% more power. A 50% gain for Titan would be over 100 HP and 125 TQ. Heck, the stillen setup for G35 shows the 3.5 making more power gains (123 HP, 101 TQ) than the 5.6. Thats gains of 40% hp, 70% TQ. Not happy.

What are you trying to say, that headers don't do anything. I not asking this to be a smart a$$, but I have been told that you can easliy get 30-40+ hp on adding headers.

By all means correct me if i'm wrong because even a grand is a lot of money.

Thanks!

Sorry, didn't mean for that to sound bad, but there's no way you'll get 40hp off some short headers. I'd be very very suprised if you could get that off of equal length headers. Do a search, there's a few members who have posted results with them. Or if you can track down Jet Tech over at club titan, he had them, and wasn't too impressed.

Yeah do a search here and at CT. There are some dyno plots you need to see. If it gave that much power I'd be running them.

Those dyno plots revealed the JBA's are good for nothing but a headache when installing. Save your money.

Very interesting to say the least. When a manufactor puts out test results are they that full of $hit? Where do they get their numbers from?
