Just turned 9,000 miles on my '04 XE KC 4x4 Titan. I am going in to have the brake problem addressed. I was pleased with my conversation on the phone with the service department. They were very upfront about the problem and seemed to know all about it. I figured they knew about it but I was surprised they didn't play dumb. They want me to come in and have the rotors resurfaced to temporarily fix the problem until the parts kit comes in for the permanent fix (told me about 8 weeks). They even offered up a free rental car. Just thought I would share my experience with others who might be going to take their Titans in as well. Wish me luck!
PS Even with the brake judder issue I am still CRAZY about this truck.

i just got my truck back from the dealer. The judder started with mine at about 9000 also. I didn't even call, all i did was walk in there and told them i need my brakes fixed and they said it will be ready by tommorow and thats it. They temp. fixed mine also and said they will have the kit in at the end of this month

Picked mine up last night from its first temp fix @ 3000 miles. They didn't say anything about a permanent fix.
Does anyone know where/how to get the official word on the Perm fix? (I know there are lots of posts here, but everything conflicts - dealers seem to be setting their own standards.)

Follow up - if this tsb (above) says to replace the freaking rotors, then why in the $@^%$@#^ are we still just getting our rotors turned? The tsb doesn't say anything about turning the rotors three times before replacing the rotors - it say to replace the rotors!! What am I missing here?

The way my dealer explained it was that the temporary fix is only being done until the parts come in. I will get the permanent fix. I am being put on the list but they want to at least get rid of the judder for the time being until the parts for the permanent fix arrive and can be installed.
Again there are many others with much more experience than me when it comes to this subject. I am just throwing out what I was told.
HTH.

I go in next Thursday for the upgrade. It will be my first warrantee visit to the dealer since I bought the truck about 7k ago. I turned the rotors myself once last week as I was tired of the vibration. The dealer service rep Ok'ed that, and they are replacing the brakes on my word of a problem.
I'll report on my service experience, but so far Eisenhaur Nissan is FIVE STAR in my book.

Going in tomorrow for the permanent fix. I'll post on how it feels when I get it back. I have had the temp fix twice and when the parts came in fro the permanent fix the dealer called me. Anyway we will see how it goes.
Sadly enough, at 4223 miles, I have started feeling the dreaded judder on my 05 Titan CC LE 4x4. I called the dealer Monday and set up a Friday am appointment. He did not seem to react much when I told him about the judder, just that they would look at it. I have been researching all posts, and copied the TSB from March 05.
Oddly enough, I have not received any notices regarding brakes, or the rear end diff. I do not think the original lube in the 05 rear end would be synthetic, but are they also supposed to change that out or only if it leaks?
Finally, I got a call from dealer about 3000 mile service. Have since gotten recorded message from Nissan and mail reminders about my 3750 mile service due(I assume this is what I did at 3000?). How often do you guys change oils?
I don't know if this question has been asked directly, but will Nissan replace EVERYONE's rotors who have had at least one fix ONCE rotor supply meets demand? So far people have to wait for the brakes to be done twice, THEN I believe the THIRD time the rotors are upgraded.
So if you reach three years with two fixes what happens?
I don't get the impression that Nissan will feel liable to change them out unless Nissan does a recall. Thoughts?
I brought mine in today for the second time. The service called back to tell me the truck was ready and went through the list of what had been done. They did not replace the rotors. I called back and spoke to the service manager before I picked up the truck. He agreed to pull the truck back in and replace the rotors. He told me that if they have the parts in stock they should replace the rotors. The latest bulletin is 04066d.

7500 on my '05 SE 4x2. Went in Tues. and experienced exactly the same thing at my dealership service dept. Turned mine on the truck, said I was going on the list and it would be 6-8 weeks for the new parts.
Had the fix done once...Taking the truck in tomorrow to get the noew rotors/pads, etc.etc. Woohoo!!!! Took 3 weeks to get the parts in..so not too bad. I'll post about it after I pick the truck up on Saturday.

If you are having problems now, you don't have to worry about going three years for it to happen 3 times. Each time the rotors are turned, they get a little bit thinner, thus reducing the time it takes for the problem to resurface......resurface. I made a funny ... ahem, and yes they will replace yours if it only happens once, all you have to do is ask. I believe they will only resurface now if they do not have the parts in stock.
