How to remove a sun visor??

I realized I can gain another inch or so of visibility if I remove the main sun visor on the driver's side. I have never used it and there would still be a smaller one left.... anyone know how to get the thing out, preferrably so that it can still go back? There is a light on the mirror so I imagine there is a wire of some kind in place. All I see where it goes into the ceiling is a plastic cover that I am guessing pops off... thanks for any ideas

The harness plug is behind the headliner. To remove the visor itself, the pivot point has a small door with 2 torx screws. The clip side has a torx screw too, but can't remember if it has a door too. To unplug the harness, at least the front of the headliner needs to come off. This would recquire removing all sunvisors, overhead console, A-pillar trim, and grab bars to remove the A-pillar trim. You will most likely need to remove the passenger overhead grab handle too. The headliner is stiff, so you don't want to bend it or it will crack and forever be ruined. So the farther back you go removing things the better.
It would be a lot of work to just get an inch or so in visibily of the sky.

Thanks for the info... I know it's a lot of work but I am not going for sky... just seeing the stop lights would be nice. I love this truck but honestly I will probably get something else in a couple years because of the poor visibility and lack of seat adjustments for tall people.

Ahhhh, didn't think about the stop light thing. I have that problem in my car.
