Installing cabin filters

Just a hint here... not for the faint of heart of those who havn't got the touch for twisting plastic without breaking it..............

I just installed cabin filters in my XE. I did NOT unbolt the glove box. I simply unsnapped the tension cable on the right and applied enough pressure to pop the stops around their striking surface. The glove box pivots all the way down (and dumps out of course). After that it's one screw and pop in the filters.

Took me about 6 minutes.

Sweet, thanks for the tip. I think with all the crap in my glovebox, it's easier for me to just remove the box rather than emptying the glovebox.

Got the brake upgrade today... Nissan is A1 about this

I just got the brake upgrade today on my 05 XE. None of the 'cut it three times' crap, they just did the upgrade on my word that it needed it. (I had already machined the front rotors once myself).

They replaced the front rotors, machined the rear, and replaced front and rear pads.

It was nice to see the warrantee labor time paid 2.7 hours, so the dealer tech can make a living doing this without racing the clock and cutting corners.

I must say I am impressed with the way Nissan handled this brake issue. From the extension of the warrantee to the rapid response to the complete upgrade.

Nicely done, and encourages me that I made the right choice with this truck.

I got my breaks done as well last week. I have been more that happy with the new one's. I am also happy with the way that Nissan handled the situation. It is understandable that they had to have a new rotor engineered so there would be some delays. The fact that they admitted to the mistake and took steps to remedy the situation (extending the warranty) impresses me.
