I cannot answer your question, but thought you might be interested in a few odd bits of trivia.
Conceived, developed, styled and engineered primarily in North America, Titan is being assembled at Nissan's new $1.43 billion manufacturing facility in Canton, Mississippi.
The very first consumer drove his 2004 Nissan Titan off a dealer's lot in December 2003. The first Titan, sold by Mossy Nissan Kearny Mesa in San Diego, was purchased by Juan Perez, a full-size truck owner for many years. Perez traded in a 2003 Ford F-150 for his new Nissan Titan.
I think they have known it was going to be called the Titan for a long time. Remember, when the concept truck was called the Alpha-T. I'm sure the T was standing for Titan.

My three and 1/2 year old calls it my "Tighten UP" or maybe TitanUp. At any rate, daddy drives a Titan UP truck. I looked into the vanity plate in NC, but somebody already has TitanUp, but not t!tanup. I might have to get that.
Perhaps the name came from the anticipation of the inevitable comparison of the New Nissan truck to the venerable "big 3" in the full-size pickup market. There could be no doubt that some pathetic word-smith would choose the title of his review as "Clash of the Titans." Harkening back to the Mythological meaning of the giants that fought the Gods living on Olympus, I'm sure the size issue was important for the marketing campaign.
On the history channel I believe there was a whole show dedicated to the building of the titan , I need to set the dvr i think , it was called American Cars , it showed how nissan designed the titan came up with ideals and how GM and Ford reacted to it , the name if I recall corrected was chosen because it referance to sheer size so that it wasn't confused with a midsize truck or a compact truck , also a funny tidbit was that the head designer happens to be a woman, but it showed prototypes of beds and info gathering meetings with truck owners in California . Guess I need to find and burn it .

yup. i think her name is Diane. and i also heard she was fired by ford, her previous employer. ford said no woman can design a truck. hence the reason for big knobs and switches...you know how ladies hate to break their nails
