I am finding that the 'Big Tow' extended mirrors really add a lot of width to the truck. The only thing I ever tow is a trailer with two Waverunners so I don't really need the big mirrors. They get to be a hassle you are driving in town or trying to park and also create a considerable blind spot isn't really necessary. How hard is it to swap the mirrors to the other type on these trucks? If it's easy enough maybe I will get a set of the other ones and have both. Also, anyone know how much they are from the dealer? I don't imagine they are too cheap!
The dealer will charge you $204.63 or more each. You can get them at this site for $143.24. If you are not sure of what you are getting, you can call them for more info. I've dealt with them several times and have been nothing but satisfied. Also, they are the cheapest online Nissan parts/accessories supplier.
Another option is to trade with another owner. Since you want to spend money anyway, someone might trade for free.
The swap is simple. Just un-plug, un-bolt, bolt-up, plug-up and you're done.

I have both. I felt the same way you did. I was able to find a set of the little tows in the for sale section for 150. It was really easy to swap the mirrors. You need to remove the door panel to make the harness connection but it was easy also. The only thing that did not work out for me is the interior plate that holds the mirror is different between the two sizes. The guy I bought the mirrors from did not send his plate. I just put some tape over the holes for now. The plate is really not needed but it makes it look better. Let me know if you have any questions.

If you have a blind spot with these mirrors you do not have them set correctly. If push the wide angle mirror most of the way out you can see cars at the front of your rear door.

I'm guessing that he means that they block his forward view...

He may be, but the benefit of the Big Tow mirrrors eliminating blind spots on the side and behind the Titan far exceed the small area obscured to the front.
Also, I find the Big Tow mirrors to be a great advantage to parking in town. I use the wide angle mirrors to see the parking stripes so I can back in a parking space without going over the line. Whenever I pull straight in, the wide angle mirrors give me a nice view to the rear keep me from hitting something on the way out.
If I think I need more space to squeeze though a tight area I just press the switch on my electric window to let the window down and reach out and fold the driver's side mirror against the truck. I've only had to do this one time and I have owned my Titan a year and a half.

mtofell.....I see that you have the LE, so you'll have to make sure the ones you buy are for an LE because of the memory function. The SE mirrors have 5 wires and will not work with an LE. I believe the LE's have at least 6 wires, maybe more...can't remember.
The swap is easy. I used a blow drier to heat the adhesive holding the thin plastic cover piece that covers up the access nuts (10mm, I think). Unplug the harness conn and remove mirror. Use heat again to re-apply the cover when done...just apply firm pressure.

Thanks for all the info everyone..... and yes, I am referring to the forward visibility. In reading some of your posts some things are leaping to mind that I really like about the big mirrors... I do use my passenger bubble when parking against a curb... it works great! Once you get used to it you can nail the truck right against the curb on your first try 90% of the time or more. It's mostly the width thing that bugs me... mostly because in my area there is a 100+ year old bridge that is super narrow and I go across it daily... It always makes me cringe becuase there are always several broken off mirrors lying on the ground against the curb.... I am afraid it is only a matter of time before mine are there too.

I swapped mirrors, and I think the Big Tow's are taller, but don't really stick out much farther, if any, than the standard ones. (Unless you extend them of course!) I think I may swap back to the Big Tows...
You must be crazy, I wouldnt give up my big-tow mirrors for anything...
Virtually no blind spots on rear-ward vision, it has saved my arse lots of times. Highly reccomend you keep them if you do a lot of highway traveling. Very handy in switching lanes...
Its your truck though, if your going for a "sport" truck look, I can understand you wanting to trade them out. I hope to lower my truck sometime, but I'll be keeping the dumbo ears on it...
