JD Powers survey

I received a JD Powers survey that they want me to fill out on the Titan and my dealer. I haven't had a chance to look it over yet as I was working on the Titan alllll weekend. Installing that DDX-7015

Anybody else get one of these?

Yep, I got one either Friday or Saturday. I didn't look at it in any detail, though....just enough to see what it was. It now sits in the large "to be processed" pile of papers on my desk.

Got one too. It's only one page. About a month and a half ago, I got a much longer survey from another company. I think it was about 4 pages.
When I bought my last truck, I just pitched all this stuff. I've been filling them out this time, but feeling sort of like a goofball for doing it!

Got mine - I've only read it once, but I wasn't too fond of the way the questions were asked, nor the possible responses. I'll review it tonight and post a follow-up.

You guys should fill those out. Mfgs pay big $$ to obtain that info. Tells them who's buying and what's working to get them to buy. All the neat statistics you hear are obtained from these surveys. Took me ~20 mins to fill mine out.

...doesn't satisfied customers mean...

better resale value for our trucks? of course, it may also mean, higher prices for future trucks...

I got one. The problem with JD powers is that they have an overall rating. This rating combines 3 of 6 scores and is what makers use to advertise.

Here's the JD Powers crappy review. Armada
They use the first 90 days of a brand new from first year truck('04) and use that for the ratings of a second year truck(Ratings for '04 are used for '05).
In '04 it had rattles, switch problems, and brake problems. Nothing serious, literally just some squeeks, a loose switch for the side window, and brake warping. They gave these all 2 of 5 and overall a 2 of 5 as their overall is a conglomeration of these categories.
Here's the categories and ratings:
Overall 2 / 5 (Verage of Mechanical, Body, and feature)
Mechanical Quality 3 / 5 (Includes warped brake rotors)
Body & Interior Quality 2 / 5 (Squeeks and rattles)
Feature and Accessory Quality 2 / 5 (includes power windows)
Performance 5 / 5
Creature Comforts 5 / 5
Style 5 / 5

So you can see, the first 3 gives us a 2.3 average or 2 rating.

Toyota Tundra
Overall 5 / 5 (They rounded up a 4.3, rounded down on ours)
Mechanical Quality 4 / 5
Body & Interior Quality 5 / 5
Feature and Accessory Quality 4 / 5
Performance 3 / 5
Creature Comforts 3 / 5
Style 2 / 5

It doesn't take into account that it got 5s in all other categories including drivetrain, nor does it take into account that all '05s have had these fixed.

So the Tundra has a 5 of 5 rating, with the true average of all 6 categories of 4.2.
The Armada has a 2 of 5 rating, with an average of 4.4.

Very disceptive and misleading too me. Also, I don't know why they would categorize warping brake rotors as serious as blowing trans, motors or rear ends.

Sent in my survey. It was all "dealer" remarks, not the actual truck itself.
Here is your chance to tell your dealer what you think of them.....

I got one from Nissan USA and one from JD Power. I know my salesman say he would trade a "Blank" survey form for a free oil change.

He could probably wring the oil right out of his slimy self.
