I bought my 2005 XE Titan 12 days ago and I can see now it was not such a good deal. The MSRP was 25500.00 and with XE preferred package and Destination charge it came to 27330.00. I was led to believe that to use the VPP, that price could not be discounted. So thats what I paid, minus the VPP, trade in allowance, and the rebate. The 2.87%VPP discount does not show up on the final contract. I was told they cannot list it separate, but it is figured into the final cash sale price. I guess with more knowledge, I should not have had to pay the full MSRP. I have no affiliation with Nissan, but to get the VPP, the salesman used a discount number from someone who is entitled to it and used me as he put..His friend, so therefore entitled to the VPP. I feel like I got shafted.

VPP starts at dealer invoice not MSRP. Sorry, but it sounds like you got screwed over. Look at the bright side - the Titan is a fantastic truck. Good luck with the new truck...
DAMN! Could have got an '05 SE for that much, or an LE in the KC version. I would have gone with
new-nissans.com and paid $500 UNDER invoice PLUS rebates (-$2000?).
I am in the SAME boat.. almost..
IBought mine when they were fairly new to market, in Feb of '04.
MSRP was $23,580.
After HAGGLING I Paid 22,000 plus tax, fees, (no rebates at that time) and could have got an SE instead of an XE from a better dealer or from above website for that price. I only got $1600 below MSRP and within a month I felt !Robbed!.
Like most here, I am "upside down" in my truck. If I sold it private party, I would still have to come out of pocket some $$$$ to free up the title for the buyer.
A good lesson to learn. Won't happen again.
Looks like base invoice for your truck is $23,051. $500 off that plus rebates ($2k?) would be about $20,500 plus options.
Thanks for the replys guys, Guess it's too late now to do anything about the contract since it has been signed, sealed and delivered. Just rub's me the wrong way to get home and start looking over all the number's on the contract, and there is no place or amount listed that show's what VPP discount I really received. I admit I didnt look at every entry and amount during the signing phase, just assumed everything was fine. When there's about 10-15 pages of form's to sign, kinda hard to read everything. I am though real happy with the Titan. If it wasnt for losing a few thousand now, I would take it to another dealer and trade-UP.
I might add, I did call the dealership this past Sat. in Brookhaven where I bought the truck to talk about the figures on the contract, talked to the salesman and the finance officer. Was told by finance officer he would get back to me on Monday morning. Well, so far I have not received his call.
I bought my 04 CC 4x4 SE using the VPP, which I receive as my employer does consulting work for Nissan. TitanDaddy is correct that the VPP should start at the dealer invoice and then be discounted from there. Using the VPP in my situation saved me about $4000 off MSRP. Sorry to hear you didn't get what you expected.
I'm getting my pricing based on VPP through my employer. I'm being told I'm getting 2.87% behind dealer invoice. I'm looking at an '05 4x4 LE Crew Cab with Big Tow, Sliding Bed Extender, and Floor Mats. Stickers out at $36,870. I am being quoted $31,300 + TT&L. Sounds like a helluva deal to me. Is there any way to do better? Oh, that is before the rebate...

So you're looking at $29,300 + TT&L?
That sounds like an awesome deal!!
I'm also looking for an '05 LE CC 4x4,
hope I can get a deal like that!

As posted on an earlier post:
Well, this post sparked my curiousity so had to pull out the paperwork. The company I work for has some kind of "plan" with Nissan (aka VPP program) ... and was suppose to be a good deal so I went get a Titan. In a nutshell, I have the 2005 BASE King Cab SE and the ONLY added option was floor mats. So MSRP was 24,950 + 110.00 for floor mats ... 670.00 destination charge ... total 25,730.00. Then there was some BS dealer stuff like under body sealant and what not ... ended up being 27,119.00. Well, that turned me off ... then they applied the incentive program through my work and TTL total was 21,217.00. I was like SOLD! I do wish I had other options but I'm adding stuff as I go. I love my damn truck!
Man, younr numbers sound high. I know the VPP that I dealt with was I'm pretty sure 2.87% below dealer cost ... almost possitive but I could be wrong. I can say that the whole car buying experience is "ok" up until you get to the signing of the papers ... THAT to me is HELL!

Two things
1 - They should itemize the contract for every single charge when using VPP or not.
2 - I was able to get a better deal than what the VPP could offer.
Don't feel too bad. I know I didn't get the greatest deal when I got my truck either, just didn't realize how badly until afterwards. I chalked it up as a "lesson learned", and just made a note not to go back to that dealer for any future purchases. We will be buying a new car for my wife this year, and I can guarantee that it won't come from the same dealership as my Titan. The dealer made a good profit off me, but at the expense of no profit from me in the future, and everyone who askes me about my Baby, I tell them to go anywhere but where I bought mine. Perhaps the dealers should realize that squeezing the most $$ out of someone isn't always in their best interest?
I too will not go back to the dealer. I have not filled out the survey yet, but when I do, it wont be good. I still have not heard back from the finance manager. Yes, it is a "Lesson Learned".
