Seat coming apart research?

I need some help! I posted a while back about the material in my seats coming apart. The material is the 2 tone gray where the bottom and back have what looks like "fishing line" type thread in the material. This "fishing line" comes loose from where it attaches to the dark solid gray material where the legs and shoulders are. This fishing line will be sticking out and look terrible.

How many of you with this material have had this happen to them? I am trying to get some numbers together for Nissan and inform them that this is a manufacturer problem and the material is defective. This would, hopefully, give some evidence to Nissan that they should either provide a longer warranty or replace this defective material! Yea good luck!!!!!!

I have 22,000 on my Titan and I have had the driver's side bottom replaced twice, front passenger once and the right rear bottom once. I have asked the dealer what can be done to help me after the warranty is up? They stated that they will try to convince Nissan to assist me anyway they can. I guess that is all they can do. But, I called Nissan and they told me that they haven't heard of this before and might be willing to do a "good will" for me. The only thing about the "good will" is that it will only be once.

The company that performs the repair told me after the first repair that I was not the only one that they saw and this will be a problem for the life of the material. The "fishing line" is being nicked by the needle when sewn to the other material.

So, I know that Nissan is not fully informed of the problem when one upholstery shop has done over 5. Then Nissan tells me I am the first that has had this problem! This after I have had this repair once! I wish that they would take the time to research the numbers before indicating I was the only one with the problem!

Sorry for the long read but, I would appreciate the assistance and I will keep everyone informed of the progress. Yea I know, I am not holding my breath!

Mine gave out at about 10,000 miles, showed it the dealer and they replaced the cover only, not the chair. Looks good for now.

Almost 11k, and no problem...yet.

I've wondered about that material. I really like the look of the interior, but some of the materials chosen concern me...

But oh well, still love the truck.

Good luck with your seats. Keep us informaed how things go.

I am noticing this problem happening now. Sucks when you have shots on as they keep pricking me in the legs. I'll give the dealer a call on Monday and see where it goes and update here. 13k miles BTW.

Yeah I wish they would have useda "solid" seat material, the inter-twined material doesnt look all that durable.
