In Titan Hell

Got a new 05 Canteen SE Crewcab from North Texas Nissan at first of June,
In the first week of having it, a guy ran a red light and smashed up my two driver side doors and a bit of the bed and front fender. The kid changed his story that hit me, but I was able to find a witness and get it resolved.

When I went to get my truck back from the dealership body shop, they had filled the interior with polishing powerder because they left the doors off and the windows down while polishing it. They scratched the cab, left lots of little scratches and smudges on the interior. Mind you the truck didn't have hardly any miles on it at all.

I took it back for them to fix the little things.. Among one of them being it totally out of alignment. They basically did the worst detail job I had ever seen, they essentially took a wet rag and smeared the white stuff everywhere. They fixed the body stuff they messed up, and I wasn't about to let them do anything else to it. I went and sadly cleaned it up myself.

In the mean time after I got it back, I found that my front windows don't roll down smoothly, they bump. And you can't get out the back door, regardless of the child lock. And the plastic trim piece fell of the driver's door.

Well fast forward one week, and BAM, Another teenager, decides to merge her wrangler with the back of my truck. Now it's got to go back to the shop again. It is driveable this time, but what hell. That was yesterday.

Today I am waiting to have the damage appraised, and was shaking out
my floor mats, then I find that the passenger floor mat is soaked. Great I have the a/c leaking problem too...

I love my Titan, But My Head is about to EXPLODE!

I'm the type of guy that Parks the Titan way out to keep the dings off.. But it seems like I am being punished... Hope your week is going better than mine!

End of RANT

ouch. Im glad I am friends with a great body guy. His work is the only body work that I have been impressed with. And when his boys get done detailing, that baby is detailed.

I feel your pain, mine got whacked by a hit an run the night before last.

Your a/c leak is an easy fix, there are threads on how to do it here on this site.

Materials cost less than a few bucks and you can do it yourself. bestatchess probably posted the best directions on this how to but this is how I did it:

Sorry to here about the Titan problems, but as some of the others said in the above post, I would go ahead and trade it in as well. The truck will probably not ever be the same especially from what you said about the body shop. If you really like your truck, I would probably try and take it somewhere else. I would still stick with option 1 and trade that Titan in.

Is this body shop at the dealer or did they sent it to a third party? If it's their shop, I'd have them make it perfect or make them replace the truck. They wouldn't lose a cent.

Three weeks after getting my truck the whole family made a quick run to the pet store and my wife was laughing about having to walk from the far corner of the parking lot. Then what happens? Less than a mile from home, wham, hit and run. Sometimes life just really sucks but you sound like your getting more than your share. I hope you have better luck with another body shop.

Lon, sorry to hear about you getting wacked...
