What I thought was going to be a good phone call......

I am at work today and the secretary pages me that the Nissan dealer is on the phone. I had factory ordered a Red Brawn about a month ago. My current lease isn't up until the end of September, so I did not mind waiting (even though I want the truck now). So I was anticipating that the dealer was calling to say they had a VIN number for me as the truck was being built earlier than expected.

Wrong.

My salesman tells me that Nissan cancelled the order because they are not building any more 05s. And the dealer does not know when the 06s will be coming.

So I am back to where I was a month ago. I will have to wait until late August/early September and hope a dealer can find a combo I want. Nothing much, 05 KC SE Red Brawn 4x4 with Utility bed, sliding extender, mud flaps and mats.

What I am afraid of is the only ones dealers will be able to locate will have additional options I do not want and will be forced to pay for. Well, maybe I will get lucky. At least maybe now since it will be close to Labor Day that I will be looking, maybe I can get a better deal.

The last 3 options the dealer can add easily. Shouldn't be hard to find one.

I looked into that. The $$$ they would give me would not come close to covering the payments. Basically I think I am stuck in waiting until August to have a dealer search for a close match. I had ordered the Red Brawn, but the Galaxy Black was another choice, so I may have a little flexability.

Yeah, Nissans not known to be very helpful in ending leases early....even if it means a new Nissan.
My advice would be to hold out until Sept. (can keep the currect vehicle for another month..just make the payment. or just give it back) and deal on an 05 that you want with maybe more options. You should get a good deal if the 06s are coming out shortly. Good luck!

Thanks Joe, that is what I figured.

What I am a little nervous about is what Nissan's cash back will be in Aug/Sept compared to the $2500 on a KC now in July. When does Nissan usually announce what the cash back will be for the following month?
