Nissan Employee Discount For All?

Has anyone heard of any rumors or facts of Nissan participating in a Employees Discount To The Public program? Chevy has hit a home run with this auto sales concept and has realized Its highest sales in the last twenty years. Dodge is soon to follow. If Nissan does participate in this concept and it is truly price effective without gimmicks, I would definitely consider an 05 or 06 Titan.

I haven't heard of anything like that. With good sales already, why would they?
However, a local Nissan dealer is offering 1% interest on 2004 Titans with a factory rebate.

I made good friends with a salesperson from nissan after I bought my truck. When I asked him what he paid for his Altima he said he paid at invoice price and no less. Well to make a long story short after several months he explained to me that dealer are in business to make money (of course). Prices needed to be marked up to cover overhead bills. He suggested to buy a vehicle almost if not possible at the end of the month. This is what I did. research for outside financing and got an approved loan. Went to the dealership and met the sales manager and introduced myself. Showed him my credit report score and loan approval from the bank. He's eyes opened wide! and got his immediate attention. All I said was I want a Titan and Im willing to pay $200.00 over invoice price. (very reasonable i think). He's response was well what payment are you looking for? I told him I did my research and never again would I purchase a vehicle on "what monthly payment" I wanted. So he said no. $200.00 over invoice was not doable. My response was "thank you very much" and walked away. Two hours later my phone rang and the sales manager said I will sell you the truck today. The point to my buying experience was that the employee discount is not more than what the invoice price is on the vehicle. Im not sure if Chevy's employee discount puts them under invoice price but I know Nissan's employee discount does not.

Local Dealership here in TN is offerring their 'Employee Discount" right now.

It's $250 over invoice minus rebates. It's a good gimmik for the average the shopper. But Ive been getting the same sort of pricing via email quotes through Edmunds and Carsdirect.

An is:
2005 SE KC 4WD w/Big Tow, SE POP POW Captains, Floor Mats

"Employee Price" is $25,525 + 300 Dealer Fee = $25,825
CarsDirect is a final price of $25,623
My email quote is 25,555

They are all obviously within 1 month's payment of each other. Im pretty sure my local dealer will match my carsdirect price when I finally buy one.

The email quote is from a dealership that is only 35 miles away. They may match it to. Ill spend an extra 100 or two to keep my business in my town though.

Nissan is breaking sales records month after month by building cars and trucks people are willing to buy for the regular price.

That should be GM's goal, but somehow I don't think they're going to pull it off.

They don't need to. Sales are great. Chevy did because they were going downhill fast. Dodge followed suit, but Nissan has been selling like hotcakes for good reason.

The GM employee pricing campaign isn't a good deal, it's a great marketing ploy. When I got my Titan in May the GM Buypower price I was quoted on a new Silverado LT was almost $1,000 less than what the deal would have been under the Employee Pricing ploy. And GM sold more than twice as many Silverados in June, probably the best profit month the dealers had in years. The employee pricing deal on GTO's was over $4,000 more than I paid for mine last September.

Buying at the end of the month will give the best leverage and buying on the last day of the year is almost like asking them to give you a check to take it off their hands.

Employee discound for all

Watch these closely. They are "an employee" discount. But there are several versions of what "employee discount" actually means.

Ford has A,C,D plans GM has about 6 different plans as does DCx.

They don’t lie, they do give you an employee plan, just more along the one the Janitor gets as opposed to the Exec.

One of the guys out here was looking at a GMC 1500 because he has his credit card discount, plus the $5000 cash back GM was offering before they went to EMPLOYEE for all. He held out for the employee discount thinking this would be great, only to find that the same exact truck would now cost him $2000 more than the cash back incentive.

While it sounds great, Its a gimmick more than a great deal.

They are in fact giving you the true Employee discount, my fathers f150 was purchased under the A plan wich is the employee discount and that is what everyone is getting now.
I was unaware that nissan has broke any sales records???
Personally i think its sad that the Big 3 have to do this, i feel that it is because of a bad rap that is really untrue about many of the new cars. It seems to me a wave of idiocy has crossed america and people thinking that the Japanese manf. are some how better and cooler. How many of you had some sort of grudge against them when you bought the Titan???? not saying all of you.
Past the Power on my Titan I would have gone with another truck. I like this site for the help i get on the truck and ideas for mods but I really feel that SOME of the people on this site really need to take a step back and think before they rant about inferior product. DO YOU OWN ANY OF THESE "INFERIOR" PRODUCTS IF NOT HOW DO YOU KNOW THEY ARE???

This sales promotion is simply to get their inventory moving for upcoming models.

Its a discount, but not in the sense of getting 1-2k off invoice.

Nissan doesn't need to hurt their bottom line to sell their trucks. With their monthly sales for Titan's, they will sell their inventory with a healthy margin and be able to be competitive even with other people giving discounts.

A salesperson at a nissan dealership is not really an employee of nissan. I don't believe a ford sales person would get the A plan. Ford , GM, dodge offer a group discount to large employers employees which in ford terms is not the A plan but think it is called Z plan? Which comes out just above invoice which is probably what they are all offering

After do some research on what you are getting for your "GMC Employee Discount ". GMC is losing on average $1500 per unit. Basicly they are just moving units .True they are having record sales, But they are not helping the bottom line and not making any money. The big three are in trouble, And they know it. Nissan is NOT giving the public the employee discount. And have NO plans on doing so.They have told us they will not give the public one of our benifits. Also GMC does have a sliding scale for their "Employee Discount " , Where Nissan does not . I assume it has to do with the fact that GMC is a Union shop. If you want the best possible deal, Befriend a Nissan employee (not a sales person) and ask if you can use his " friends and familey discount. " True its not as good as the employee discount its still the best deal the general public can get.
