Big tow mode?

How much weight can you tow without using Big Tow mode safely?

I have a 2000 lb bass boat that I have been towing with a 500 lb 4 wheeler in the bed and havent been using the tow mode....think I am ok, or should I be using the tow mode?

what weight do you start using the tow mode?

As long as your torque converter is staying locked up and your tranny isn't "searching" for a gear you are good to go.

The towing guild states that you should start using it at 75% of GCVW so you are well below that.

Last year about this time I had major overheating towing around 10k lbs. We were doing alot of climbing and such... but still - the tow junk is overinflated...and once something blows are they really gonna back the warranty?

Isn't that 500lbs over the factory rated limit?

I would say Nissan would have to back the warranty towing up to 9500lbs, but I'm not too sure about 10K.

It kind of makes me wonder why you were overheating though. I thought our trucks could take it? Have you taken it in yet to see if maybe there's a problem or anything???

I was towing a Jeep Liberty on a Uhaul full vehicle trailer. Two dealers checked it out and said all was fine. Not sure - My new rig is a Chevy Z71 and the wife now drives the Titan.

Hmm, if you tow you better use the Titan or barrow a Ford, you don't want to be too tough on that fragil little half frame that GM uses...
