Question Should I buy the off road package?

I am about to take the plunge and buy a new Titan. I am definately getting the tow pkg. so the lower final gear ratio is already figured in. Is the off road package worth the extra bucks, or would I be better off taking the money and buying after-market upgraded tires and wheels? I do some off roading, but a lot more city driving and commuting.

I like the off-road package on my Titan. Spending more money after the fact is always tough because of the gas prices. Do not forget about the stuff you cannot see underneath when considering the Off-Road package. Either way make sure to get 4x4 to increase your resale value.

I just noticed you are from Vegas. You might need more Bling than what the stock Titan wheels offer. If you like shiny chrome you may want to save your cash and do the after-market spending that you described.

I included a picture of my new Z71 and my Titan - you can see the difference in the stock wheels.

The wheels on your Chevy look like they're steel. Given the choice between Nissans aluminum Off Road package wheels and chrome steel wheels, I'd go with the aluminum. I finally got rid of the hienous steelies on my XE, but haven't updated my sig pic.

My opinion on the Off Road package is that its an inexpensive option that adds things that would be expensive to add later, so I'd go for it. The 17" wheels also have a lot more options for replacement tires (and they cost less) than the 18's right now.

Definitely get the tow package because of the larger gears. I wish I got it myself. It's harder and costlier to swap out the gears later. The offroad package you can do without for now since you're not going offroad that much. You can always upgrade your suspension with better springs and shocks, even a lift.

Go with the offroad, like someone said better resale and better looking wheels with several more options, lower gears, fake rancho's, bigger tires and I can't remember the rest.
