Dead battery?

I drove it this morning...to home depot.
Came home.
An hour later, tried to start the truck and....

click click click....in rapid succession
all the gauges kinda "fluttered" for about 3-5 seconds, then dropped to the off position.
Tried again, with same response.

Got a jumper cable and jump started it.

I've been driving it freeway for a portion of the day and the battery still seems weak (it'll start but just barely).

Alternator?
Battery?

take it to Advance Auto Parts or Autozone! They can hook up a jumper to the batter cables to load test and then wrap a transformer around the cable from the alternator to sense amperage draw and tell you if it's your alternator, starter, or battery. It's free and you'll have that knowledge to take with you to the dealer in case he tries to charge it and send you on your way.

Take it back to the dealer! If you're under the 3/36, you're covered. Gonna be a bad battery.

If the dealership replaces your battery be sure they use one of these things that plugs into a 12v outlet so that your radio presets, clock, compass, etc. won't lose their memory.
