May/05 Build Titan Has All The Fixes, Lemoned My 2004

I just purchased a 05/05 crew cab 4x4 titan two weeks ago, I lemon lawed my 04 and got all of my money back after having my front brakes fixed 6 times. My A/C gave out 1 day before I had to turn it in to Nissan.

At the advice of my attorney, I bought on with a build date of 05/05, he claims that is when the whole production was revamped.

Its great! It has the brake fix, the A/C blows cold, no blower motor noises, no Darth Vader noises from under the dash, the electric drivers window is fixed, the fuel gauge is accurate now, no leaks.

This is the way to go, I drove a Tundra, Toyota and a Ford and I just had to get a Titan all over again. I thought I should share this with everone in the market for a new Titan.

04 Titan

Sorry to hear about your 2004 Titan and glad to hear you stayed with a 2005 Titan. I guess I can consider myself lucky. My June manufactured Titan hasn't encountered any problems yet except for a passenger power window motor needing replacing. I havd just over 16200 miles on it now and so far my brakes are holding up.

I was wondering when Nissan started implementing all the fixes in the production line. I'm hoping my June 05 Titan is good to go then.

Great
I also have a Cinco De Mayo truck. But I believe we do not have the new brakes, I get a lot of brake dust. As for the rest of the truck it feels great.

i was told by the my dealer just this past week that my truck (build date of 04/05) has the new brake rotors, however it's VERY obvious by the amount of brake dust i get that i have the old style brake pads.

I've got about 710 miles on my 6/05 Titan, and it doesn't seem like there is that much brake dust, if any. Of course, that might be too soon to tell. LOL.

I believe the Quest is also made in the same plant as Titan. Our brand new 05/05 built Quest has the same stereo/mono fade the Titans radio has. I guess not all the problems have been addressed yet.

Good to hear you have come back home. Glad to hear they have fixed the Titan newbie issues.

I have a 01/2004. I have had a few, okay, a lot of small issues. None have been all that severe(compared to araujo). The worst so far were the brakes, which have been addressed. All of the other issues have been addressed by my dealer.

it can be found on the window sticker, but if you open the driver door and look on the door panel at the sticker that gives vehicle weight, tire psi, etc. it will give the month and year such as 04/05.

I also have a may 05 and I sorry to say it they still have the old pads (reason for all the brake dust), but we have the new rotors. My dealer put on the new pads for me a couple of days ago. Hopefully I wont have so much brake dust. Cheers - Chris

I have 04/05 built date, very minimal amount of dust no more or less than other cars I've own (only lots of dust first week I had it). Close to 3K miles and no sign of brake judder (knocking on wood). I have heard 04/05 and newer have the brake fix from factory but nothing 100% positive. Also heard 05/05 have all the fix.

You gotta love it! You have to return the truck as a lemon, and you get another Titan. I would do the same thing if I had to. There is something about this truck...

My truck's born date is 5/30/05, and I've not encountered the problems that I've heard of on this board. I assumed that all problems had been addressed by then. I'm glad that you got everything taken care of, and I wish you many yars of good luck with your new ride.

As much as the Ridgeline is growing on me, I think I might do the same thing...

That is if I get it bought back. I havent driven a Ridgeline yet, but I just dont think its going to be big enough now that I've had a Titan...

I've mostly owned Honda's, the Ridgeline wasnt out when I bought my Titan. Now that it is, I'll have to consider it...

Also considering a GMC, $39g truck(loaded except nav) minus $10g's is hard to pass up. Cant get a Titan w/sunroof w/o nav right now, pisses me off...

However, if they can do apples to apples and only be 3-4 g's off of a GMC, I might do the Titan again. I just love its looks...
