Hi guys, Just bought my Titan a couple weeks ago. Crew Cab 4X4... Just wondering how happy you are with your trucks so far? I've been reading about brake problems and other issues with the Titan. I'm a little worried in that my Titan was built in 2/05 and I've read that many of the fixes were not done until 5/05. Are there any issues that I should be bringing to my dealers attention B4 they become real problems? So far I'm happy with my purchase but then I've only put 800 miles on it... Already have a scratch down to the primer on the drivers side door Any tricks to using the touch up paint? When I've used it in the past it ended up looking worse than the exposed scratch. Any info you might be able to pass on good or bad from your experiences would be great. Thanks
For the scratch, use a toothpick and go over it several times. Do not attempt to make the paint level flush, just fill the crevice with red paint and it will look at least 2x better.

Most car dealerships have a guy that specializes in scratch repair come to their place one a week to fix door dings caused by car shoppers.
These guys work out of a van and specialize in small scratches. They use small air brushes and do not paint whole body panels.
The dealership scratched the paint on my Titan so they fixed it for free and repaired several other dings not caused by the dealership for free. I would call the dealership and get the phone number of these guys and ask them how much a repair to your Titan would cost if you brought it to them while they were at the dealership.
The guys might do it cheap if they have paint already mixed to do another truck that is the same color as yours.
The repair job will look so good you won't be able to tell where the scratch used to be.
Good luck and welcome to Titan Talk!

Congrats & good luck on the new truck. As far as the scratch goes, I once watched a professional auto body detailer using what appeared to be a hypo syringe & needle. It had a small quantity of matching paint on the inside and he delicateley squeezed and ran the needle tip carefully along some scratches. It looked great with no overlap you sometimes get with a toothpick or match stick. Know anyone in the medical field?

I found the BOD.. 2/05 Was it built B4 all the fixes? Brakes etc...
I have a 2005 with a 10/04 BOD and the only problem I've had so far is the brakes. My dealer has been very helpful and they have already installed the new rotors and pads (supposed to be the permanent fix). Mine has 10k miles on it so far and no other problems.
Good luck and I'm sure you'll love your truck. Good looking truck BTW....
