Titan vs Ford SVT Cobra

Thought I would have easy pickins with an older chevy 1500 at a red light but that chevy just blew right through the light. Up comes along a Ford mustang on my left. Thought it was a late model GT so I figured I'll give it a try. Got a good jump on him for about 3 seconds but soon he relized that I was not playing. Next thing you know his engine was screaming at full throttle with a lot of thrashing and about a few seconds later he passed me but had to slam the brakes due to traffic ahead. Then I caught a glimpse of his SVT logo with Cobra bumper. After looking up the specs on that car I really had no chance of getting him. Anyone out there beating a car with that type of power.

If it was the new Cobra (i.e. 04' or so) you're talking about the 390hp Supercharged one.

One of my friends has one and that thing responds so easily to mods it's sick!

My buddy has a 99 with some bolt on mods. Not brutally fast, but it's easily in the mid 13's. It's gonna smoke a Titan without breaking a sweat (as any even SEMI-sporty car should do!).

I don't even waste the nitrous against a Cobra. I'd still get crushed like a jellybean.

I normally mess with cars out of my league just for the heck of it... but even I don't know if it's worth wasting a gallon of gas when you won't get a chance to look at their taillights. lol

Anyone trying to go against an SVT Cobra in a huge rig should have their head examined. haha - but it sure is fun to try!

I beat a supercharged cobra 3 lights in a row....with my vette.
If you had a supercharger, NOS, and every other option on a Titan made so far, you woundn't beat a Cobra with a supercharger. Not happening. You'd need new cams, ported and polished heads, etc. to get close. Next year comes the GT 500 to raise the mark again. Stock it will be low 12s in the quarter. You will be able to read a lot more rear emblems soon.

With what mods other than the exhaust and a new clutch? The Cobras have been shown to be under rated just like the Titan in horse power. I have NA 89 5.0 with most of the mods and I can take a first gen Z06 Vette. Here is some info from another forum I am on.....

they talk crank hp. ford says the 03-04 cobras have 390 crank yet the cobra guys swear they are alot more. they agree on about 420-ish. stock dynoed you can get anywhere between 360-380 rwhp from one of these beasts. theres a lot of sick vids of these cars over at svtperformance.com they have alot of them with dyno sheets in the 500+ rwhp range.
