A little off the topic but along with the new Titan I got my wife a new Altima. Well she drove it in third gear all weekend, sustained RPM’s of 5500+ while driving down to the shore, basically the first 180 miles have all been in third gear. Am I totally %&$#ed any body have any suggestions as to the course of action I should take (trany fluid change, oil change ect).
On a side note my wife’s Titan privileges have been suspended until further notice
Take it back to the dealer, and tell them it's no good. You want a new again...
Is it a four or six-cylinder. Believe it or not, if it's a four, you might not be bad off, as long as the red-line isn't 5,600rpm's. I'm not sure about the six'es though..
Oil and tranny fluid change my help, but I think your bigger concern would be the overall relability and performance of the car.
Did you heck the fluids- are the dark at all?

I doubt they will, but you could take it back and see if they'll change th fluids. Tell them the fluids look too dirty to be new. They may change'em-Then on top of it, you'll have documented the 'problem'.

Man, I know proper break in should always be followed and everything but I don't think it's that big of a deal. She'll probably hit 100,000 miles before you even think of this little situation again. Dont' sweat the small stuff!

I wouldn't do that often but.....I doubt you have to do anything at all. Just show her where "D" is for future reference. All that did was eat more gas. It'll be fine.
