Give Me A brake

I know there a a thousand stories about the Titan brake problem, and I am on a second pair, but I want to relay a story another owner told me.

I just left the beach after a good day fishing (I drive my Titan on the soft & hard sand of the Jersey shore) and pulled along side another Titan who was also filling his tire with air and he said he is on his "fourth" pair of brakes.
He had an "04" SE 4x4 with 27000 miles on it. He said that he also had the "NEW" brake system installed and didn't work for long. He stated that when he returned to his dealer after another brake failure he insisted on "After-Market-Brake Rotors & pads. He stated that the Dealer complied and installed the new after market brakes. (no charge)

NOTE: The dealer replaced his brakes with an after market brake system and he hasn't had a problem since. He also said he tows alot and maybe that is way his brakes fade so quickly.

I was told when I recieved my second brake rotors & pads, the service personnel advised that the new brakes are an "Updated" brake set. They could not explain to me what "Updated" meant, but ensured me that the new brakes will take care of the problem.

QUESTION: Does anyone know about the "Updated" brake system and has anyone already have them replaced ?

Did anyone replace their brakes with after market brake rotors & pads on their truck and if so, what type is recommended ?

P.S..I still love my Titan, and I have the "big-tow" package, but have not towed anything "yet". Also for all you fishermen out there, the most important thing you do before going out in soft sand is reduce tire pressure to 12lbs or less...!

I may be wrong, but I don't think any dealer is going to replace the brake rotors and pads with aftermarket units and charge nothing.
There are many posts here that describe in detail what the updated brakes consists of, and pictures showing the difference in the rotors.

Second that...

The TBS on the brakes allows for the dealer to write it off as a warrant repair that cost the dealer *nothing*. All their service guys have to do is fax Nissan a invoice and they get their $ back.

To said that the dealer put aftermarket units on this guy's Titan is to said that the dealer used their own money to do so... not likely. Now, if this dealer is a little shady... he may have still invoiced Nissan for the brake kit and installed aftermarket units on. But he would have used units that cost less then the OEM factory (and OEM parts is pretty cheap at dealer cost).

Unless I see it in person, I can't see it happening.
