I'm no audiophile I readily admit, but I just love this thing. I'm a bass player, so I love the bass response and it holds it's clarity even with volume way up.
But I'd be willing to bet some folks just hate it...or think it's junk.
Your opinion?

I really like my RF system, but from what I've seen on this site, I think more people here dislike it than like it....

I don't class myself as an audiophile either, but it just seems like it's missing a little bit of range in between what would come out of the subwoofer and a mid-range speaker.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

I like it, it has bass/mid/treble controls and that allows me to tune the sound just to my liking.
it does not compare to my $5000+ show/competition car that hits 155 spl with all mbquart, eclipse and Rockford equipment....but that is a no brainer
if I was to change the stock system...I would just add a powered sub to add a bit more bass. I think some1 here posted about a bass tube from walmart for less than $100 and it did the trick
With the exception of the Bose system I had in my last Mercedes, it's the best I've heard in an OEM system. Much better than what was in my last F-150 and Z71.

I'm sure there are a few audiophiles on this site--but I bet most of them ARE NOT those who spend all their time b!tching about the OEM stereo, ripping all of the stock stuff out, and putting the biggest subwoofers they can find under their seats. Just a guess--but if I had the money and was a true audiophile, I'd be buying speakers for my house--not my car.

I like it. I listen almost exclusively to my iPod through it (and I rip to AAC at 192kbps so no comments about the quality of an iPod stream,) and it sounds great. It can't touch the home theater system in my family room but I can't fit my 65" TV in my truck either so that doesn't bother me ;-)

I consider myself a bit of a hi-fi nut, but at this stage in my life most of my money gets spent on home equipment. That being said, when I bought the truck I was really dissapointed with the RF system. I swaped tweeters (for some low buck audax models i had laying around) and I've been 95% thrilled ever since. Its punchy but sounds a bit "thick" in the lower mid/bass region but it still gets loud enough for me and has enough low end, although not like an aftermarket system, to at least let you hear to the lower octaves. And the cd changer rocks, the tuner just plain sucks.

I need to add that as well. I live a few miles north of Los Angeles and you would think radio reception would be fine. This is the only system I've had that needs to re-think the tuner.
So is the tuner better on the stock system for those that have had or listened to both? I'm ready to buy a Titan but not sure if the RF is worth the additional cost. I listen mostly to am sports talk radio and cd's.
I expected better fidelity from the likes of rockford fosgate, looks like they have become the sanyo of the audio industry in the fidelity aspect of the stereo.
I replaced an old 95 blaupunkt with a 175 dollar alpine unit in 2000 and it sounds much better than the rockford-fosgate hype that is in the Titan.
