i have a question about my gas mileage. i currently have 2600miles on my titan. right now i'm getting about 235miles to one tank, acutally it'll take about 22 galllons when i fill up. that's about 10mpg. i remember my very frist tank got 106miles. i sorta agree on my truck getting a little better, the last few tanks was about 9mpg. is this usually for a truck that's has low miles? i've been told that the gas mileage should increase as the miles on the truck increase. i don't know if it was here or on clubtitan, but someone mentioned that i should start noticing a difference after 3000miles. any comments? oh also, i have an exhuast on it. and i'm being a lead foot 90% of the time. can't help it with that sexy rumblin' sound.

Is most of your millage in town? If you sit in traffic allot that could be where you millage is going Titan=1gal/30-60min of idling. If it is mostly hwy then you may have an issue. I gained about 1.5mpg from new to today where I am getting 15mpg with a CC and Big tow. some where around 50/50 driving, so unless you can move from city to hwy driving I wouldn't expect a large increase. You may want to take it in and have them check it out. Usually O2 sensors are a common factor with bad gas millage. Good luck and happy trucking.

Fill it up, and take a trip somewhere and see if that doesn't improve your mileage. If your highway MPG is around the 18s then you should have a problem with your truck...just a lot of lovely city driving, like me.

I've had my Titan for a little over a year and do 99% city driving. Before my dad passed away and I was visiting him everyday at the nursing home, I was getting 12-13mpg city, now 2 months after his passing, I get 10mpg at best, with 10500 miles on it. If you're driving city mostly, it won't get much better, but you should realize with your saying you're a leadfoot and having a V8, mileage isn't gonna be very good to begin with. Yeah there might be a slight difference, but I didn't notice an increase in my mileage until bout 6-7k and that was only a 1-2mpg increase.

I have the same problem, about 10 mpg at first. The volant cai helped about 1 mpg. It is about 12 mpg now that the newness has wained. Highway mileage is alot better. aroung 16 to 17.
I am feeling pretty lucky here I got 195 miles on half a tank < took 13ish to fill up>, and all of mine is city driving , I am just learning to stay out of the pedal , but I also got 210 ish out of a 1/3 of a tank but that was mainly highway , but mine has improved

Problem - Lead Foot. Enjoy the G force and low mpg or change the way you drive. I get 13.8 miles pg split traffic and highway. On vacation I got 16.5 running on the highway. Whenever I floor it, I figure it cost me .50 cents.

That's weird with about 50-50 city and highway driving and putting at least 35 miles a day going to work and back I'm getting half a tank at 250 and light comes around 345-50. I use the AC a lot and don't usually roll down the windows. With my recent intake and exhaust installation, I'm recording about 365+ miles for the last three tanks when the gas light comes on (22 gallons). Am I lucky or in the norm?

The worst mileage my Titan has had is 13.8. And that was a full tank of in town driving with burnouts and WOT takeoffs. I usually average 15.
My first tank was 15 mpg on the freeway off the lot.

Several of us at the powertrain plant did a test to see if oil can increase mileage. What we found was rather interesting. Regular oil we averaged 16-18 MPG HWY miles and 13-15 MPG City miles. But the best results was with Full Syn- oil. We averaged 18.4-21 MPG HWY and 14.6-16.3 MPG City. Best results with Full Syn was 22.3 MPG HWY and 17.6 MPG City. Remember, this has nothing official, just 4 guys changing oil at the same time and at the same place for close to 12 months. We just finished testing begining of June. I thought I had bragging rights when I went to visit brother in Montgomery, AL and drove down I-65 from Huntsville to Montgomery. Filled up on Interstate and filled up again once arriving in Montgomery. With the Full Syn oil and no lead foot with cruise setting on 72-74 mph, I got 21.3 or 21.4 mpg. I can't remember for sure, but another guy drove to Fla. for vacation and got 22.2 mpg. Pretty much driving same way. I don't know what would cause the difference, maybe less mountains to climb or even which way the wind was going. Either way, you can control your MPG by the way you drive. Maybe several posters here can do their own test, but you have to be honest on your results to get a correct result.
One thing to look at -- my hand-held gps says that I'm actually traveling 104 miles when the odometer reports 100 miles. It also says that the spedometer is right on. I've done this test multiple times and the results are repeatable. Big tow, 4 x 4, off-road. A 4% error seems to me to be pretty big.
