Side view mirror scratches

Hey guys, I've had my truck for a little more than a month and already have some ugly scratches on my big tow mirrors. On the street where I live, people sometimes park way into the road and when passing I have to get close to the plants and trees on the side. The big tow mirrors tend to take a beating through the plants. The black plastic ring has some scratches on it and the chrome part has a few also. I think on the chrome I could just use some scratch remover and buff it out but am afraid the black plastic trim cannot be saved. Anybody else have this kind of problem?

Yeah, one to really watch for is the drive thru at the bank. Not all of them are the same height, even at the same bank. After going thru successfully a bunch of times I ended up in a lane I had never been through before. Caught the bottom of my mirror and got nice deep scratch. Fortunately it wasn't enough pressure to really damage the mirror. I know another Titan owner who caught the side of the mirror in a narrow bank drive thru. His scratches are noticeable where mine isn't.

I have noticed how narrow the bank is. I am always really careful there. The scratches on my mirrors are just caused by like small plants and some thorn bushes. Nothing very rigid, they just kinda brush over the mirror.

For the plastic there is nothing you can really do to remove scrapes, my experience is that Vinylex (or any plastic shine, that's just my preference) will make it look better by shining the scraped plastic.

For chrome you can buy Mother's Chrome Polish and most auto-parts stores and get it looking pretty damn good. If they're as light as I think you won't even notice them when you're done.
Good luck,
-Cyrus
