Rusty door

Yep, go get it redone now!

While you got it fairly recently, how long was it setting on the lot? (the born on date?)

Since you live in Ohio, might I also suggest you get the rig undercoated period? Ziebart will do it for about $330.

When I come back North to Michigan, I plan on getting mine done even though it's not a new vehicle.

If you can see that rust, that means there's potentially more somewhere else...

Good luck.
Mike

That's horrible, and very unusual to come out of a factory like that. Almost makes me think that the door was already repainted before you took ownership. Definitely take it to the dealer and complain, tell them you know that touch-up paint will not stop the rust from spreading. Only thing I'd be concerned about is that when replacing the door, they will most likely only give you a new skin which means it would have to be re-welded onto the door.. you're more likely to have problems with that than those 3 small spots!

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you,

Rail Dust

I doubt that it is rust, probably a condition called rail dust. Whatever it is still needs to be checked out and corrected by the dealer.
You can do a search by typing in "rail dust." Or just check these links out.......

Just to make sure it's rust, take an old toothbrush (a soft one) and try to brush it off. You'll also need to take that to the dealer tomorrow to prove to him it's not rail dust!
