1st time to track hints...

Hi all,
I'm headed to the track for the first time this week and really don't know what to expect. Can anyone give me any hints so I won't get there and look like an idiot? Maybe just an idea of what to expect. Can't wait to see what this truck will do on the track. I'm getting dyno'd that mnorning before we go to the track so I will have an idea of what all my mods have added to the truck since baseline run when it was new.

Wear long pants (not allowed to race in shorts) and bring some food/water). Take off tailgate and spare tire if you want to "lighten up" the truck a bit. Dont use your A/C at the track as it drips condensation. Turn off VCD if you have it. As for the actual race:

(1) Go around the water box
(2) Stage Shallow (stop as soon as you trip the stage light - the second small light)
(3) Leave on the 3rd yellow light - if you leave on the green light, you are already late
(4) Roll into the throttle
(5) Have fun!

My friend would do a few things when we use to go to Freeport Raceway 23 years ago. At nights end, befor the demolition derby, you could race in the 1 on 1's with whatever car you drove to the track in. Like GETSOMZ28 said and about the spare tire, also he would remove hub caps (not applicable for you) add a few gallons of Texaco's 104 octane blue racing fuel sold legally in Bayside, N.Y. back then or at least a bottle or 2 of a good octane boost. Get there with never more than 1/4 tank of gas. The closer to empty the better. Remove the air filter only for the race. He would drink some beer in the stands as we drank a lot more, then off to the races until elimination. Fun times.

Best Way To Launch Truck

Taking Titan to the track

Going To The Track (Need Tips)

Setting for a race need help.

I used the search function with 'dragstrip, track, tips, race' and came up with a few threads that may help you out.
