Question Sap on paint

Well i just got back from a 15 day visit to China(I'l try and post some pics later) and my girlfriend left her car parked under a pine tree and there is sap on her car. It's 2004 black civic and we really don't want the paint to get damaged. I wanted to know if anybody had advice on what to you use to get the sap off? I imagine other people have had this problem before. Thanks for the help.

-Shane

I'd say wash it really well twice, then try a clay bar wax. It does wonders, and you can buy it at Auto Zone for like $15.00 for a kit. Once you're done with that, you must wax the car again.

I'd do something soon though- You don't you want that sap to get too baked in...

Good luck!

Margarine, vegetable oil, butter, peanut butter. That is what I use to get pitch off of my hands.

Man that stuff is the worst. I park under a pine tree sometimes and it drips on my windsheild. Makes little clear dots that smear with the wipers. I just wash it good and it comes off.

I'll try the WD-40. And my friend also recommended the bug/tar remover. So i guess I will try both. Thanks for all the replies.
