Dodge American Made?

In the news today:

"Chrysler Group began building the all-new 2006 Dodge Ram Mega Cab pickup today at its Saltillo Assembly Plant in Saltillo, Mexico."

Now I wounder what all the Hemi-rednecks are going to say about "American-made"?

Dodges being built in Mexico is nothing new.

the question is who isn't outsourcing their products from south of the border. i just noticed when i was looking under the hood of my titan a part, can't remember which one, but it clearly said "made in mexico". cheaper labor outside our borders, what's new - right? but yeah, you're right - those damn ignorant brand loyal "my trucks made in america" owners still think its a 100 percent american!

Yea, but this is the King of the Dodges - their flagship being built by our friends south of the border.

Yeah, its pretty sad when an American truck is built in Mexico, and a Japanese truck is built in America.

Even the engine/tranny in the Titan is made in Decherd,Tennessee.Which can't be said for the Ford windsor 5.4L.

The 5.4 is made in Canada. Some of them may still be made in Romeo, Michigan?

And both companies do it for the exact same reason - it's cheaper for them.

Canton Mississippi is probably about as cheap as you can get before you move to Mexico. With a population of 12,955 and the last reported median household income of $24,237 and an median house value of $53,300 - their income & house value are 1/2 the national averages.
