Roady 2 install update....Important info

Hey guys,
Some of you may have read my post last week, of the install of the Roady 2 XM receiver in my Titan. I have some updated news that may be of some importance to you.
Originally, I was unable to get a signal from the antenna being installed out of the third brake light, unlike many others on this board. I installed it out the front, on the roof on the top right corner of the windshield. This once good signal, however, degraded a few days later. To avoid making a short story long, I experimented throughout the week, with various locations for the antenna. Turns out, my original install was fine (out the third brake light), but the wire had been damaged once the brake light bolts were re-tightened. If your antenna wire is running out of the brake light hole, be sure to not overtighten the nuts, and wrap the wire in some electrical tape at the point of contact, to give it some extra protection.
Good luck, hope this helps.

I just ran the antenna wire on the floor under all the floor mats, under and then behind the rear seat, and out the rear slider to the roof. Not noticable and works fine. But yours sounds even better...so long as you don't pinch the wire tightening the 3rd brakelight down as you mentioned.

Good point to share with the gallery. I've got my XM Commander wired thru the third brake light and works fine. The Roady II has been relegated to my office for 8 hrs. or XM a day via home kit.
