Flat Tire

I was getting on the 405 today, the onramp was having work done to it...when all of a sudde the buzzer went off on my dash as I was accelerating to get on the freeway.

I was like what the, not now!

Looked down and saw it was tire pressure sensor, my tires looked a little low the other day but not too bad, so I did not think too much of it.

Got to work and looked at the tire and found a nice fat screw lodged in it.

Guess the people doing the construction on the onramps left me a little suprise.

Guess I will have to go home and get my jack (since I had jsut taken it out due to working on titan's interior. And come back and do a little work after work.

Dunno why I posted this, I thought it was cool the sensor alarmed me, it didnt' go compleatly flat so I would not have been prepaired to have a flat tire when I get off the metro stranded, instead I looked at the tire when I arrived and mde arangements for a ride home from work early.

Funny you should post this, last night before I was planning on gettin on the 405 ( torrance ) I saw a screw in the tire, took it to Pep Boys and had them patch, cost me $15 but o well, better than a new tire.

Well, so much for the "boys" I was driving to work this morning when I heard a loud buzzer and saw my tire pressure light on. Now I must say, almost everything I have needed done on my truck had to be fixed a second time. I don't know if I am jinxed (sp) or what...

I plan on taking it back to PB for them to look at again.

lol I had bad luck too.

When I got back to my truck there was still enough tire pressure to drive it (same as when I left it). It was about 10 miles to the tire shop so I just stayed off the freeway.

Got to Discount Tire and they were closed! Doh..

So I swung it over to wallmart, I was nervous about having them do the work, but they showed me the patch. It was a combo Plug/Patch that they pull through fro the inside of the tire. Had them rotate the tires also, cost me a whole $12.50 cents. However it took them over 2 hours!

When I got the truck back the light was still on, the guy was trying to convince me that it had to be reset by nissan, but I told him he was crazy, Checked the tire pressure, said he filled it to 35 and it was at 26 on my gauge. So I just had him make a note of it and went home and filled it up with my compressor (they had already closed down the shop and I was tired of waiting any longer). Anyways Filled it to about 31/32 and the light shut off on the way to work this morning.

All is fixed now, It was funny how after I came back an hour later the guy had the tire off the rim still and was like, it's cool we already did the rotation lol. an hour for a rotation with a hudrolic Jack? I could do it in 5 minutes lol. But at least no problems so far, other than I need to check the pressure in the remaining tires.

Did you check to see if you ran over another nail?

Not yet, I was in a hurry to get to work so I have not yet. My buddy is going to go out today and look with me. I don't know what to think if I see another screw/nail. If not I will be making a trip back to see whats up.

On your light thing. Mine stayed on for minute after I filled up with air then went off after driving a lil.

check your tire pressure too, maybe it just leaked a bit out. Did they plug your tire or patch it?

he used a patch, he spent alot of time on it. I thought after it was done the pressure looked low but I drove on it for 24 hours and it was fine then the light came on.

He said he put 39psi which the tire said 44psi was the max. When I replaced the air this morning it started at 29psi. I bumped back up to 40psi. I hope this works

My freakin light and buzzer came on AGAIN, I was down to 30 this morning. I'm going back after work ( in a hour ) to make damn sure they fix it right. I hope they didn't damage anything like the tire beads or valve stem ?

Did they plug it or patch it or both?

Patch- it was done right and good.

Turns out, they busted my valve stem and busted some beads on the tire. WTF is what I'm saying. There is always something with this truck. I got a quote from the dealer about fixing for me. I am going to PB tomorrow to show the quote.

PB owes me a new valve stem and tire. I will see what they say about having the dealer fix it. I will keep you posted
