Decided to try the Meguiar's NXT paste wax this evening...simply awesome!

That's me, my camera, and my wife's Suburban behind me in the reflection!

Hope the pic post works....

Nice job. Did you wax only or buff with a cleaner first?

You use your hand or a buffer? That's a nice shine, could even see your receding hairline.

Man,
If you don't have a polisher now, invest in one. Cleaning and waxing this beast in one day will take a toll on your rotator cuffs. I was able to do this about four times before my arms just said "No More!"

I just washed it with Meguiar's soap, then waxed it by hand. Took me about 3 hours, including wash and dry time. Yes, I will be purchasing an electric buffer soon! My wife likes the shine so well that she wants me to do her Suburban next!

I was waiting for someone to mention the receding hairline. Over the last couple of years, I've decided that bald is definitely looking more and more sexy!

Most waxes recommend hand-application, so if you're just one to wash and wax it may not be worth your money.

However if you like polishing/compounding/real detailing then yes there is absolutely no question to invest in a Porter Cable or the like orbital.

Oh BTW truck looks great and nice color, I don't see it enough! Almost as rare as Red Alert

I sure do! I'd love a place for my drawbar, light adapters, ratchet straps, etc.

I used the Meguire's NXT for my first wax. Went on easy and came off well (by hand). that was about 4 months ago. I need to wax it again since it appears to have "worn out". I used Mother's quick detail between washes etc. and it has held it's shine pretty well in my opinion. I have been holding off on the wax until I get a P/C polisher so I can try to remove some scratches before I wax over them. only problem I had was that I had two water spots on the hood when I put first coat of wx on and it went right over it and they are still there. I suppose that would say something for the protection if it has kept those water spots "protected" from the elements and washing. A recommendation would be to get the paint as clean as possible before applying this type of wax since it seems to protect it pretty well. I have just bought a bottle of the NXT quick detailer so I can't advise on how it will do.
