Just bought my Truck any advise

Hey all:

I just bought my first new vehicle, a nissan titan se 4x4 with the off road and towing/utility package. I have read a few of the forums here so am aware of a few issues that I may end up dealing with. Just wondering if other Titan owners have some advise on what I might be on the lookout for. Also, I pick my truck up in 3 weeks, what should I do when I pick it up. Again my first new vehicle..should I inspect it? check it against the sticker to ensure I get everything they sold me? Thank you for your help

Be sure the salesman goes over the new vehicle delivery checklist with you.

Certainly go over everything on the sticker and make sure it's there. Just look for key items if you need to save time (fog lights, electrical hitch, off-road wheels, big chrome mirrors, the off-road wheels).

Check for scratches/scrapes/dents at the time of arrival, and take your time. The dealer will repair anything for you so long as it does not leave the lot.. once you drive off, you're on your own about these things.

Start the car and let it idle while talking to him for a while, make sure everything sounds right, no excessive drips, no engine lights come on.

Get in the car and use all the controls you can (radio, e-locker and see if light comes on, switch the drivetrain into 4WD and back, lights, etc) and make sure nothing gives you problems.

Other than that enjoy your new purchase, it's one heck of a truck! Oh and congratulations!!!

make sure they take the dealer's stickers off the truck unless they are going to pay you for advertising

just like everyone else says.

If you find anything wrong, you insist they get it right before you take delivery oor sign anything. I was too f*cking exicted that I accepted the truck with a faulty handle, took them two months to get the parts and repair it.

Are you saying you bought the truck but haven't actually seen it yet? Only asking because you say you pick it up in 3 weeks. If that's the case, I'd go over it VERY thoroughly before you drive it home, as stated earlier. Take it for a LONG drive, not just around the block like some dealers try to get you to do. Good luck. These trucks are serious.

Consider taking someone with you. Someone else to look over the truck with you. Have the salesman you bought the truck from there if possible for a comfort level. Go over everything on the purchase order and make sure you are getting exactly what you asked for. If there is something that isn't on the truck that you specifically asked for, make the dealership give you an IOU. Ask questions on anything you are not comfortable with, in fact write some questions down and take them with you so you are sure not to forget. Good luck and I hope the truck gives you a lot of joy.
