Talking DIESEL..........I know something

I just head from a "friend" that spoke with the 1 person @ Nissan that would know about a diesel. Any there is talk about a "light duty" diesel. No word at to when, but rumor is, minimum same torque & HP as gas but 20-30% better fuel economy.

SCH-WEEEET!!!

Now, ask him if he knows where Hoffa is buried!! J/K!!

That would be pretty cool. Did he mention anything about a 'sport version' of the truck-maybe a Titan SE-R.

Hey, a guy can dream can't he...

off the Nissan topic, but...

I heard from a reliable source that Toyota is going to be coming out with a 1 ton diesel in 2007. Wonder if they will still put it out with the price of fuel, even being a diesel.

With the lower sulpher diesel comming out to the pumps this year, you will see many more diesels comming to the US. I would love to see a diesel from Nissan by 08. Getting 14mpg towing is so much nicer then 11.

I certainly would hope that it would have same HP and torque as gas. If it didn't, it would be quite the pathetic diesel.

If the diesel does have the same hp and tq as the gas motor, that would be pathetic!

Same hp/tq as gas, but better mileage? Why doesn't Nissan just come out with a multi-cylinder disabling system for our motors? Hek, we've got independent coil packs and injectors...why not? Same hp when you need it, and at least 20% better mileage when in 4 cyl mode. Hek, the Dodge Magnum and 300C Hemi's have this now, and have mileage rating of like 26 mpg in 4cyl mode.

If I ever make the switch to a diesel, I'd probably just buy a late model Dodge CTD, although I'm sure the Nissan will be a great truck. Gobs of aftermarket mods readily available for the big 3....none of this waiting 2, 3, or more years like you'll see when the Nissan diesel finally does comes out.

They used to sell them here in the States. A friend of mine had one with a diesel. The person he had bought it from had run pipes up behind the cab like a semi-truck.....it looked pretty silly, but it got between 40-50 miles MPG.

Ever stop and think about how much gas you can buy with the extra cost of buying a diesel? On paper it doesn't always pay to buy one. On the other hand the truck stinks from it too.

Would probably have the same HP but have a lot more torque.

Diesel gas costs more also.
