Hi all!

I can't believe it but I'm the proud owner of a new '05 Crew LE FFV 4wd Titan in Red Alert! and I'm lovin' it. It stickered at $36,850 and I got it for 31,500 so I think I did ok. E85 is in the tank and Amsoil is on the way, thanks to this forum.

I have to tell you all the story. My wife wanted a new dining room set for $800. I told her absolutely no way. Later that evening we went to look at it anyway... as we were pulling into the furniture store I seen the Nissan dealer next door. I told her that if we were looking at dining sets, then we were going to look at trucks. She agreed. We decided not the get the dining room set, and then left for the Ford dealer. We ended up test driving trucks that evening and she was hooked. We almost bought an F150 Lariet, but I decided I had better do a little research first because I hadn't looked at trucks in years. I had no idea Nissan made such a great truck, the reviews were fabulous. The next day we were test driving the Titans, and they blew everything else away. Skip ahead to dealing on the exact truck I wanted and couldn't find locally, (red LE CC) and the wife said "You realize the Titan will now be the family vehicle". Me thinks I'm in trouble here, as she is with the kids quite a bit more than I am. We start talking minivans, and work out a 2 car deal with an '01 Venture 60k miles. They financed them both for 4.6%, and now the Titan is MY TITAN! I could have saved a lot of money by buying that dining room set... but I wouldn't be a happy!

Good haggling skills.......with the wife and dinette set! I find myself doing that all the time too! Usually though, I'm on the wrong end of the deal...like that commercial a while back with the two guys filling up gas....one bought a Harley, the other a dinette set......I'm the one with the dinette set!

BTW - why does the truck have the SE wheels on it if its an LE?

Six spokes on the LE. It isn't the Off-Road.

I think....

HEY!!! Does my truck have the right wheels?

Don't do that to me, Crash!!

Yes, you have the correct LE wheels on your truck.
Welcome to the family! Glad to have another member here.
It's a custom in here that the new member (you) buy us all beer!
After 6 months of ownership, the smile on my face is still there.
Good luck and enjoy it.

Nice truck.
Those looked like LE wheels to me. LE - 6 spokes, SE - 5 spokes.

oops........caught me sleeping there! Yeah, I guess I got so use to the off-road package wheels I just jumped the gun.

Just make sure though you did get the v10 that all '05s got, and not the little V8's like the '04s got!

Sure, I'll buy you all a beer. But you have to come up here to get it.

You're from Grand Forks ND? Forget the beer. I'll take a Retrax (www.rolltopcover.com) cover since you're in the neighborhood LOL.
Will you be installing one on your truck. I've never been to the Dakotas but I'd like to travel there one day. Again, enjoy your new wheels.

Good grief I had no idea they were based here. I know that New Vision is based here. And here I was going to buy a K-cover. I'll have to see if they have a factory direct price.

Glad to help you out. I would have thought you knew they were made near you. It is an excellent cover.

Great truck! Enjoy it. Spend lots of time on this site. You will learn a lot. One word of warning, though. You will soon have the fever to raise it, level it, put on an aftermarket exhaust, and get larger, more aggresssive looking tires. Then, you can really let us hear about your wife negotiating skills! I found it easier to get the blessings to buy a 30k truck than to spend 3K on after-market mods!

Nice work!

If you got yourself a new ride and managed to keep your lady happy in the process, then you're doing things right.

I've had my new Titan for just a few weeks and everytime I drive it I'm reminded what a fun-to-drive, well-designed, and versatile vehicle it is.

This is my new commute vehicle, family hauler (mine seats six--approaching minivan capacities), and all-around Road Warrior.

Good luck and keep us posted with your observations, experiences, potential vexations, and discoveries.

Mark
