well i live in miami-dade county (kendall) as you may know we got hit with hurricane katrina thursday night. even though the hurricane was category 1 we got tons of bad affects. the hurricane made a surprising turn to south-west which is where i live and hit kendall along with homestead with 15-20 inches of rain. when i went out in the road friday i got again to see why it was a good idea to get a truck. only trucks had the best way of getting around. this truck once again made me proud. i still remember my mom and sister asking mewhy i got a truck 2 months ago...with expensive gas prices. well guess what? they needed me and the truck. around where they live that area was so flooded only trucks could get by. when i went to her area i saw so many cars that went dead while trying to go thru the waters, saw many tow trucks towing them away. i for a moment was kinda scared while submerging the titan in deep waters but in the end she was all go. believe this or not the water level was right under the bottom of my headlights. it was very bad. the waves cause by other trucks would come splashing on top of my windshield and would actually move the truck. but this truck really really really showed me how awesome it is. i saw a 04-05 f-150 stuck in the water and a chevy silverado. now im home. with the titan all covered with mud. oh by the way im without electricity. but its all good i got my generator right on top of the bed of the titan powering my house. theres still over 1 million homes without power. once again this small hurricane did a lot of damage. over 2.5 million left without electricity in the southeast. i heard in the news it can be friday till all home get power back. oh well. i survived the storm. and definately beat out the floods with " big red"
Glad you're OK. Charlie did a job on me last year. I'd clean out the fridge, make sure everything is safe and secure, and go North for a couple days. No sense in staying in a hot house with no power as long as you don't need too. Give FEMA the hotel bill. Good Luck!
Glad your okay, Im out in plantation and we really didn't get anything but a couple of down trees.
u guys got saved. this hurricane was headed your way. its incredible how this thing just turned southwest...expect the unexpected. now its a category 3 about to go to 4 and hit hard somewhere else. i hate these hurricanes. dont matter how high gas price gets...its because of living in miami and having these hurricanes every summer that make me keep my titan...along with other ones too..
I'm in Natchitoches, which is far enough north not to get hit by this puppy. As manager at Sonic here in Natchitoches, I'll make all of my fellow TITAN Owners a deal. If your in the area or driving through to head to ur hotel in shreveport or someplace, stop by Sonic right off the interstate in Natchitoches. If you see my white TITAN in the parking lot, drive up and the meal is on ME. I hope everyone in the south LA is gettin the hell outta town and good luck and god bless to all. Its not much but hell a free meal is the least I can do as I have family in HOUMA and Harvey on the way up now.

MORE TO COME!!!
Hey,might take you up on that!!-Look for Red Brawn-
bsdnsu4343,hey might take you up on that!!Just kidding I wouldn't do that to a fellow Titan owner. But,if you see(in the drivethru) a Red Brawn KC XE with Centerline 17" wheels with a tired looking driver and a kinda fat looking white greyhound riding shotgun-that is me-give a yell.I'll give a honk if I see the Titan.
We travel very heavy-2 dogs,3 cats,me,wife 19 yo son-and they will all be hungry.yeah(especially the dogs, they eat cheeseburgers when we travel-cats are big beefeaters also.I'll be in the truck with one dog,my wife and son will be in the Honda Pilot with one dog,3 cats.
We'll probably leave early afternoon tomorrow-.The highways around here have been stacked with traffic all day-bumper to bumper.I figure to wait till the last second, and hope the traffic isn't so bad.It Katrina hits, We will probably just keep driving to Flagstaff AZ(1500 MILES),and spend a couple of days there(beats staying in DFW this time of year-hot).Might as well go someplace cool at night.
Luck,Charlie
PS-MiamiTitano-good to know that the Titan is amphibious.I sure hope we get outta here-New Orleans-before the water starts rising, but it is good to know it does so well.Whenever I start looking at Honda Accords,I have to remember how often it floods around here.Heck, with a camper top on the Titan we can put all the animals back there(in crates so they don't bounce around),and the humans can sleep back there(we pump AC thru the sliding window with a flexible dryer hose taped to a AC vent)I even insulated and soundproofed my old Tundra Accesscab..
I do wonder why californians get huge 8" lift kits when they will never use their truck like you guys do during hurricane season. I hope you guys get through this okay. Remember to help others if they ask they might get a titan

I think we're getting some of that rain blown over here from Katrina right now as I type, it's coming down pretty good here.
you're probably just getting the typical sea breeze showers always around this time of year along the Texas coast. I don't think that the feeder bands have even begun to hit New Orleans until this morning, so doubtful the Houston-area is getting anything from Katrina, and probably won't since the west side of a hurricane is usually the drier side.
I'd be pretty interested though to see if Katrina takes a turn that takes it further west towards the Tx-La border. I just found it kinda funny that as soon as it came off the Florida coast they said it was headed towards New Orleans, although it was headed WSW at the time. They can forecast them alot better these days, but they're still unpredictable. Bet there is quite a party going on along the Lousiana coast, since they love to party when the wind starts blowin'

I know how you feel buddy, we had about 12" of flooding in certain parts of my area a few weeks back. Tons of cars were sliding all over, many accidents, many people stalled in the streets. Titan drove like it was a regular sunny day. That's ground-clearance for ya. Also why I'm scared to put on an aftermarket intake. I wish the Nismo was S-Tune so it would come with a warranty!!

water doesn't get into the cabin even though it's up to the headlights?
Would probably be ok if you were moving and it was only a brief moment. I got caught in a flash flood in the vette and had a wave brake over the windshield. Still drove through and no water inside.
