Thumbs down getting scratches on top 1/2 in of windows?

i was cleaning the titanic today and couldn't figure out why i was getting small scratches on the INSIDE of my window tint--but only the top 1/2 in. i then rolled my windows down and looked at the top window gasket where the window seals into the door at the top. well my friends it was CAKED with road grime and dirt. i took a clean soft cloth, some glass cleaner, wrapped it around my little finger and ran it back and forth in all 4 gaskets and the cloth was BLACK!

so the moral of this story is--we've got big windows--it takes A LONG TIME to clean your truck--don't let a missed gasket scratch your tint or make you windows look lame!

happy cleaning!

Do a search on the subject. Apparently others have been complaining that the inside part that touches the glass isn't that soft, brush-like stuff, but hard plastic. Most people with tinit on their front windows have scratches, you can't stop it without somehow replacing that piece.

yeah, i knew about that. what i couldn't figure out was why it was only scratching/continually dirty on the top 1/2 inch. i had never had anyone talk about it or even mention it. so, once i was done cleaning the inside glass i looked at the top of the glass as i was lowering it and the top end was filthy. i then realized that the gaskets had never been cleaned! ahhh the things you learn every day!

If it is the top edge, probably the gasket. Stock tint is in the glass so its got to be glass scratches if you haven't tinted. The guys complaining about the scratches on aftermarket tint are the ones worried about brushes on the inner frame.
