Intake Question-Sound at Highway Speed

If I put an intake kit on my Titan, K&N, Volant, etc... Would the drone on the highway increase or decrease? I have a dual exhaust with Borla XP's and would like to put an intake on. Would the highway noise/drone/exhaust sound increase or decrease. Decrease because of the better flow or increase. I understand at full throttle the sound would increase and I'm fine with that but would prefer not to increase the highway drive sound. Thanks for the info.

I have never heard an intake on a Titan, but from the hundreds of other cars with intakes I've been in, I will tell you that they make no difference at cruising speed (maybe you would hear a slight increase in sound while passing). Your really have to open them up to about 2.5-3k to hear that roar.

On most vehicles you'll hear it only at WOT, otherwise you won't know its' there.

My experience... a slight increase. Noticable really at WOT but it's generally a bit noisier throughout the rpm range. The intake sound is more pleasing sound than exhaust drone though.

Sent this email to K&N today but have not received a response. Anyone know what the difference is?

Both K&N kits listed on your site have the same part # 77-6012 but have different performance gains. What gives? Which would you recommend for a the Nissan Titan? I'd like to purchase one but I'm confused.

The following site states a 7.27 HP increase:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=77-6012KG

The following site states a 17 HP increase:

Thanks in advance
