Napletons Nissan wants me to buy a Ford (long rant)
Wow, Nissan sure makes it difficult to buy a truck.
I went to Napletons Nissan in Riviera Beach, FL about 3 weeks ago and test drove and got a quote for an 05 Titan from one of the salesmen. A few days later I submitted a request for quote on Edmunds. Edmunds simply forwarded my request to a different salesman at Napletons who called me back and gave me the same quote. The next day the first salesman calls me up and *****es me out for having to share a deal with someone else and tells me to only deal with him in the future. I say whatever and ignore it.
Yesterday I decide to place an order for an 06. Since Napletons is only about 3 miles from my house I decide to give them another chance. I call expecting to get a different salesman, but end up getting connected to the same guy. Instead of hanging up like I should have, I tell him very clearly that I want to buy an 06 Titan today, and ask for his best deal. This assclown says "I gave you the quote last time you called." WTF? I was pretty much speechless. He continues.."I'm really busy today. If you want to come down, you'll have to make an appointment". I was pretty pissed off, but I still wanted a truck so I went straight there and walked back to the general manager's desk. He had two other customers and a salesman waiting in a line to talk to him, so I waited. After about 5 minutes Assclown notices me and comes over acting all friendly. I'm pretty soft spoken and not one to get in somebody's face or make a scene, so I pretended my phone rang so he'd stop talking to me, then turned around an walked out the door.
So then I drove further down the road to West Palm Nissan. After finally convincing the salesman that I don't want an 05 that he has in stock, he tells me that he can only knock $1000 off of MSRP on an 06. I tell him that I'd like to pay close to invoice. He laughs and says no one will do that on a special order vehicle. Then gets up and walks off while I'm still sitting at his desk. I get up and tell him across the crowded showroom "If you change your mind and decide you want to sell a truck today, call me", thinking maybe the manager would step in. The salemen just sort of grunted in my direction and continued to wadle back behind the counter. I respect that a dealer can ask whatever price they feel like, but these guys didn't even try. I was ready to write a check on the spot. Those F-150s are looking a lot more attractive now.
Come down to texas i'll get you set up with a sweet deal.
IMO you need to call the first dealership, get a salesman on the phone you like, then go down in person and meet him.
Dont even talk about ford yet, just cause a pr1ck of a salesman.

Start by emailing the dealers and then when you get the best deal , attach the others quote to your next email and so forth . Even if you drive an hour I bet you can get a the right deal.

I'd say go back to the original dealership to talk to the sales manager again, and if a$$clown walks back up to you again, just tell him point blank that you aren't there to see him, and if you were you would have asked for him. Talk to the sales manager, let him know what happened and you just may end up with a pretty good deal. I got my sale setup through my insurance company as they have a buying service arrangement with whatever dealership you want to buy from. They'll do the negotiating, etc (not that there is much negotiating to do as they come in $300 above invoice to begin with) and contact the internet sales rep/mgr and then all you have to do is call/visit that same person yourself to sign the paperwork and you should be set. Took me maybe 2 hrs to take care of everything when I got my Titan.

Yes I had a similar experiance at the first nissan dealership I went to. The salesman would not give me a price for the truck at all and would not give me a seperate price for my trade. I told him all he needed to do is give me a final price on both my trade and the new vehicle and we would work from there and would not do it he kept asking me what I could pay for a monthly payment. I told him let me worry about that and then said that I had a quote on an f150 (which I did) and asked him if we would be in the same ballpark. He says an f150 huh walks into the sales managers office and comes back out and said go buy the f150 wtf. All I wanted was an actual price that they wanted to sell me the vehicle for I dont think that was unreasonable. Then I went to a diff. dealership and they took good care of me night and day in comparison.
If the titan is what you really want shop around for one before you settle on something else happy hunting.
You might come out cheaper buying your 06 from Advantage Nissan, and having it shipped to Florida. I have got a quote from a local dealer here in Houston $500 below invoice and a 1k rebate. With gas prices rising, these dealers should be shining your shoes when you tell them you want to buy a Titan.
Don't let bad salesmen influence your decision. No matter what you buy your gonna have to deal w/ an idiot salesman. Just decide what your willing to pay and what you want and keep searching until you find it. DO NOT SETTLE!
My .02 cents. I'm on my second Titan and I love it BUT..............after going to the Dodge website and specing out a LOADED Laramie Hemi quad cab equiped similar to my 05 Titan CC LE, I could have bought for $5000.00 less!
This Dodge deal would have been "employee pricing" (about 5,500 off) minus 3,500 rebate + whatever you could beat out of the dealer.
I'm NOT a Dodge fan but is this a good VALUE? Check it out!

Exactly. And whatever you do, DO NOT SETTLE for an F150. Find another Nissan dealership. Going back to the same one several times shows that you really want the Titan, which they will use against you. The worst thing you can do to yourself and show a salesman that you REALLY want their product. Patience and willingness to travel is the key to getting the best deal possible. Good luck.

I say buy the Ford or a Toyota. If you're getting that kind of service now, wait till the problems start and then you'll really be on your own.

Find another dealer but whatever makes you happy. I wouldnt buy from that dealer for sure but remember sales and service departments are very differnt i hated the sales department but love the service there great.
If your too far from another dealer and the ford is the closest one then youll be happy with one go get a tuner and an intake and it will run with a titan
I say find another dealer thow.
Buy the Titan, it's just better than the others. Since the Nissan is priced almost the same as the others, we bought the Titan by choice, not price.
When owners of the "big three" ask me why, I say I chose for all it's great qualities, not because it was a "employee discount" bargain price. Those discounts are just a way for the manufacturers to move their vehicles.

You have two choices in life:
You can stay single and be miserable,
or get married and wish you were dead.
I went to the local dealer when I dicided to buy my first Titan and had the same problem. Then found the two next closest dealers were very accomadating as far as negotiating the price. Some nissan dealers work on volume and others rape the customer. My local salesclown lost 2 commissions because of this.
I say I chose for all it's great qualities, not because it was a "employee discount" bargain price.
I'd be willing to bet allot of the Big 3 owners would say they bought there trucks for the same reason your bought yours.. cause thats what they wanted.
Allot of people chose the Titan over others because of price.
