Interesting "feature"

I forgot about this when I accidentally did it a few months ago but I had a reason to open the right rear window only yesterday since my black lab needs to woof at the cars as they go by. Well, that was a big mistake. When I opened the window I was cruising at nearly 60 mph and the pulsating pressure wave was so bad it actually makes the truck shake!

I can't hear the radio, the glass moves, etc etc etc...it's bizzare. The only other item in the truck is my daughters child seat on the driver side rear. It's terribly annoying...so I did it again and again and again! hahah

Oh, it's a 2004 CC LE in case that matters Try it sometime at any speed above roughly 45 mph. I kept doing it because it was just plain odd or maybe I was a glutton for punishment!

Is that with just the right rear window open and none of the others (including the rear cab window)?

BTW, Kelly's Heroes is one of my favorite movies.

Correct to both!

Open the rear window (even a little) to relieve the air pulsing OR only open windows on one side of the truck so that you get an insteresting "swirl" effect.

My dogs and I discovered the same thing awhile back

Right, I've done that many times but....I've never ever had the pulsation as bad as this in any car I have owned. It's not a defect per say but rather an interesting way the air behaves when only one window is open.

Just something I noticed

Interesting feature

Don't want to hijack the post, but what are you using as a back seat cover for the dog?

I'm imagining I can use a cheaper seat cover for the driver's side passenger seat but the other bench seat is a bit different.

btw: Kelly's Heroes Rules! (I'll take the Tiger Tank even if it's leaking gas!)

Not a hijack at all.

I flip the bottom of the seat up when Lucy rides in the back. Since I have leather I'm not too worried about dog hair on the seats. What few pawprints I do have are mainly from my Jack Russel Terrorist who loves to ride shotgun on the center console, but only for a few minutes. He usually stays in the back.

I've been fortunate with dog hair because I keep up with my Labs grooming and it keeps the shedding down. She won't be around much longer as cancer in her nasal cavity is rapidly killing her...she still loves the car rides and woo woo's any chance she gets.

I suppose you could use a sheet or do what I used to do if the dogs went swimming: bring plenty of towels!

I have cloth seat configuration and the dog hair is standard. It's the dirt that I'm trying to reduce. I'm going to be making vinyl covers I think soon, one for the flip up console as well.

Sorry to hear about your lab and cancer. I have a 15 year old Chocolate named Tbone that also has cancer right now. It's certainly in her chest but she's not in pain and still has bladder control but time's coming soon.

You're braver than I am for having leather (which I would want) but am afraid of a dog toenail (which even cut is going to be a problem.

Besides "Rocky", I just got one of our foster dogs back "Casey" so now I have four dogs that do the ride...can only take three unless I use the truck bed/cap...

Same wind effect on mine with the Sunroof opened up. You have to open another window or you go crazy.

Believe it or not her nails are so short I have never clipped them the entire time she's been with me, 9.5 years so I'm not really worried. Besides the leather is pretty durable. It would have to be to stand up to our abuse.

She hasn't lost bladder control but it's rapidly affecting her hind legs and her ability to walk. We're counting her time in weeks rather than years. It's ok now I've resigned myself to that fact and with judicious use of 2 drugs she's in less pain but it's still difficult to watch.

rtapia, that looks like the ticket. Has it worked well for you?

NDJolly, come to think of I believe it did it with just the sunroof opened as well. I have to run out later so I will try it again. No idea why I want to do it....but you know I just have to see if it does it!
