Major gas price increase

Have heard that within the week gas prices will rise $0.40 per gallon due to the hurricane!!! First tank for me is on the dealer Thursday.

Hurricane or not, it's just another excuse to jack the price up. The oil companys are using anything to gouge the consumer out of his/her money.

i totally agree with you. now-a-days even hurricanes are big excuses to jack up prices. yes that barrel surpassed $70 a barrel. i just check thru nymex.com on the current barrel price and its down to the $67....something again. so all this is excuses excuses. im sure prices will still be jacked up. now supposely Bush will approve to tap into the fuel reserves to ease up prices. let see what happens to prices then. next weekend i have my trip from miami to orlando. will go to disney + busch gardens. i hope gas prices are relatively not that high.

Heard Bush is considiring (sp) tapping into the reserve, not sure if that will help at all with the prices.

This is what the oil companys are doing to us

i never really like the idea of doing this but in this case, i think it's a good idea. the downtime of the oil wells will only be temporary and with the end of travelling season, we shouldn't have a problem filling up the national reserve at a later time. i know all the owners on this forum would like a break at the gas pumps!

I am just as upset with gas prices as the next person. Why raise the price of crude before anything happens. And if nothng happens, do you thing the oil idustry will lower the price or even reduce the price. I think not. Much of the issue has to do with the supply side of gas. The refineries. There are just to few to keep up with demand. Basic economics, high demand will lead to increased prices. Hopefully, things will settle soon and those of us who weather the storm will be happy again.

My rant.

Just think of how all of those foreign countries will come to our aid, following the hurricane. Just like we help out after every natural disaster around the world. I'll bet all the OPEC countries will keep prices down, just to help out. And think of all the humaitarian and food/clothing/shelter that christian, muslim and hindu countries alike will shower on us. Makes you feel all fuzzy and warm inside, doesn't it?!

Just filled up today. $2.599, 21.366 gallons for $55.53.

I fill up every 2 weeks or so.

I hope the price levels goes down before the next refill.

Man I still remember the old days $10 would fill up my car.

Ha yea, after getting gas at Wawa’s I stomped on it and loved the roar of my twin pipes bouncing off Wawa's.

Think I saw some gas stations raising prices as I drove by tonight.
