Finally got the dreaded brake juddar

3200 miles and I think I finally got the brake juddar. Was coming down a hill going around 50-55 and when I used my brakes my steering wheel started wobbling side to side. I let off the brakes it went away, pressed them again and I definitly could feel shaking from the steering wheel. Everytime I let off the brakes it went away, and when I had to use the brakes the shaking happened. This continued all the way down the hill. When I came to level ground I tried to duplicate this to make sure. At slow speeds it was hard to tell but when I used brakes at the speed limit I could feel it allot. Theres definitly something wrong with it, I wanted to take it straight to the dealership but they were closed already. I'm gonna go there tomorrow first thing. Does this sound similar to what you who had the brake problems had? Would this qualify for a fix? I'm kinda bummed but if I can talk them into a complete fix I'll be a happy camper. Any advice guys? Thanks

1. welcome to the club
2. press the dealership for the 'final fix' (not turning the rotors--NEW rotors and NEW bigger pads--i think a turning of the original rear rotors as well) tell them you were coming down the mountain and you felt like you were going to lose control and it was a 'safety' issue--this way they will feel if something happens they will be liable and not so quick to 'write it off with the temp fix--although the temp fix is still good--for a while!
3. once you get the final fix you will love your truck even more!!!
4. quit going up the mauna!

Thanks for the advice. Will I have to take them for a ride and try to duplicate the problems you think?

Hope dealer isn't Tony Nissan. I would print the TSB/Notice and take it with you. If you have more than a year since you got it be ready for some BS. Please let me know how it goes. What island are you on?

I'm on BigIsland, just got the truck 5-5-05. Is there a certain amount of brake problems you have to experience in order to get the full brake fix?

Call the Nissan dealers around your area to see if they have "final fix kits." Some dealers have them some don't. The interim fix is a waste of time since the brake judder will be back in no time.

I consider my old brake judder problem a blessing!
Since they have replaced my rotors with the new and improved rotors, My brakes are even better than when they were new and I don’t have brake dust all over my wheels.

I haven't washed my truck in about 2 months and my wheels still look pretty good!
With the old brake rotors I was having to wash the truck every week just to keep up with the brake dust.

No hard feelings!
I still love my truck!
And I thank NISSAN for dealing with their mistake properly.

I looked at the Toyota forums before I bought my Titan and saw a lot of problems with Toyota brakes. Toyota did nothing about their brake Judder problem.

Oh yea I also called the NISSAN customer service hot line to report my brake problem.
I think this helps a lot and keeps the dealers from jerking you around.
And make sure the dealer knows that you know there is a major brake with the rotors.

Had mine in for the brake problem for the first time today. Called in for status and they said they replace everything with new pads, and parts.

How can you tell if you got the new rotors?

Got my Titan back and am pleased to find new rotors!

Looks like they put new ones on rear wheels as well.

Time to clean the rims now.

Ok I finnally got a reply from the dealership today, got an appointment next wednesday to bring my truck in. They said they want to take it for a test drive to see whats going on. Is this what they are supposed to? I should be able to ride with them right? (last thing I want is some strangers hot-rodding my truck around, I dont even want them to drive my truck unless I'm in it with them)You guys think they will give me any sh!t about my Intake/Exhaust? Thanks
