auxilary fuel tank

Anyone done an auxilary fuel tank yet and got any good advice? It suddenly occurred to me that might be a good thing to have over the next few years....

You might check out some diesel forums for some good info. My uncle has an auxilary tank in the bed of his duramax. He had me take it to St. Louis a couple of months back. It was crazy to watch the fuel guage go back up to full while traveling down the road. His Duramax has the computer display in the dash that shows the Distance Untill Empty, or something to that effect, it was crazy to watch it drop and then go back up with out stopping...

I would love one of these aux tanks/toolbox by transferflow but they do not make them for our Titans. Anyone know of anyone who does?

I'm hi-jacking my own thread here for a moment - denoxia, on those rear wigwags, did you just wire them in the usual way? I have a "trafficbacker" module but have held off installing because the lights are run by the body module. If you can simply wire them in like any other vehicle, I may just get out and do that this weekend.

http://www.arb.com.au/long_ranger_fuel_tanks.htm

you take off you the stock fuel tank and replace it with that one

it would be really grate if someone make aux fuel tanks for Titan

Before installing an aux tank remember that more fuel = more weight. More weight = MORE fuel consumption.

The current fuel shortage(????) is mostly a product of press reports that there is a fuel shortage driving panic buying.

If stations would impose a $40 purchase limit the lines would soon disappear. Yesterday I saw a huge SUV fill up at our local BP and also fill six 6 gallon cans on a roof rack. Good grief!! Our area is still recovering from Katrina and about 100,000 folks have no electricity and some are using generators but the fuel cans on that SUV were over the top (pun intended). :=)

Imagine the consequences if that guy was in a wreck???

...SUVs should not be allowed to carry 6 6 gallon containers...

on their roof...

only Titan owners can safely carry such in the beds of our trucks
