Navigation System

Hey All...

I was just curious about the price of an OEM nav system for my truck...I want to keep it as stock looking as possible, and my XE came with the stereo button and wiring for the system, so I figure why not.....

Here's the question...

I was looking at www.everythingnissan.com and was comparing the prices of the infiniti QX56 vs the titan. Are these systems the same? If so can someone explain the discrepancy here:

Titan Part: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=2&catalogid=2

Infiniti Part: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=2&catalogid=2

Or is this just a mistake?

No one would happen to have a wrecked Titan with a Nav system I can scavenge by any chance???? (can't hurt to ask)

Many thanks in advance....

I'll sell you a "like new" condition Magellan Roadmate 300 for $350 plus shipping. Google it, it's a very nice color touchscreen GPS that you can move from vehicle to vehicle. I also have a 1 gig sd card for it. It's got pretty much all the bells and whistles (turn by turn audible directions etc.) I've got the original box and all paperwork for it as well.

Thanks for the offer, but I already have a tom tom, I'm looking for the oem system rather than another stand alone...

If you go with the Nissan unit, you are over $2,500 (the parts are sold separately at your links) and that doesn't seem to include the wire harnesses or the factory NAV screen bezel.

You might consider getting the factory bezel and a carputer w/USB GPS receiver & NAV software and a touchscreen. There are threads here where people have mounted a touchscreen in the factory NAV bezel and it looks pretty much OEM. I think you would come in at least $1,000 less and you could do alot more (play DVDs, MP3s, run any windows software, connect an OBD diagnostic cable, surf the net in wireless hotspots, connect a USB data cable and use your cell phone as a modem to send emails, read the service manual .pdf, use excel to keep gas mileage and maintenance spreadsheets, play PC games, etc.).

they look like the same unit and the image is exactly the same. The infinity unit is mis-marked price-wise as the display unit. If you are going to do it, jump on it and hope they don't find out...

If you don't do anything with it there is always e-bay for re-sale at a profit...
