Where do you park your TITAN?

HI All,

Perhaps this question has been asked on this forum, but I tried to do a search and I could not find any past discussions.

I would like to know how many of you Titan owners cover your truck with a truck/car cover if you are obviously parking your truck out in the open.

What are the pros and cons of placing a cover over the truck, other than it obviously protects the finish from the Sun’s UV. If you park out in the open weather, how are you protecting the finish, e.g., regular washing and waxing, etc…?

I happen to be one of that is contemplating on a Titan in the near future but I prefer parking in the garage rather than out in the open weather, after all, these trucks are not cheap…any suggestions from anyone will be appreciated.

I park mine outside at work and home. I have done the car cover thing in the past, a few week after that the cover start collecting dust. Save the money for other mods, a good wax once in awhile will probably work out better.

I park it outside as well. At work I park it against a peninsula (U) on the left side of it if looking directly at it so the person parking next to me won't be able to open their driver's door into it (unless they back in of course).
At home, I park it in the drive in front of my house against the curb so my wife doesn't open her car door into it (it happens).
No protection on it, no cover. It is a truck, it's supposed to get dirty right? I've had it less than 3 months and have 8000 miles on it. It has never been washed aside from the dealer detailing it and mother nature raining on it.

Steel car ports are great.
Garage is best.
Anything is ok, as long as there is no hail.

Smile Car Cover

I bought my Titan two weeks ago and I have a car cover for it because my neighbor's trees hang over onto my side of the driveway and they are messy. They drop some kind of sticky residue. The care cover works well except it takes some time getting used to taking off and putting on because it is so big. Also, if it is wet when you go to take it off, you will get wet too unless you have some sort of waterproof jacket on. I also put a mark on the back part of the cover so I could easily tell the front from the back because it is a lot of material. Lastly, I had to cut a hole in the cover to accomodate the antenna because there is no hole for that. If I had the garage for it I would definitely put it there though.

Cut the branches that hang on your side and send him the bill.

What kind/type of cover? Cloth or synthetic? What brand and if you could direct me to the web site. Thanks

Parking the Titan

A good wax is a must if it's outside!

If you did get a cover, get one that's breathable and make sure that it's secure (doesn't rub anywhere) or else you risk marring the paint!

Synthetic can be left on longer but if you're removing it daily, a cloth one is fine.

Luckily my garage is both heated (heated floor) and cooled. My truck (and the wifes Quest) are spoiled. But I waited MANY years and spent a bunch to have this garage! I used to be a car cover guy myself. The downside to a cover is really only that it's a pain in the butt to use and can freeze to the vehicle in winter (been there...I know).

I use Menzerna FMJ (full molecular jacket) as a top coat on the finish.
Prior to the top coat and when the truck was brand new (two days off the lot) I clayed, polished with Menzerna Intensive and then Final polish and put glaze on to fill any minor imperfections left and then the top coat. Everything including washing is done with microfiber towels and I use Menzerna auto wash shampoo once a week when I wash it with soft water. Its a pain in the @ss but my truck allways looks better than brand new. I would never use a car cover because I would be draging dirt across the paint with it. I always park outdoors. You can obtain advice and the products I mentioned at properautocare.com. Hope this helps and by the way I use Menzerna on all the lenses to protect from UV as well.

Mine has never been indoors, except once when it went in for service. I wash it once a week and wax it once every 2 months.

carports are great, as long as you don't scrape the rear quarter panel on the support pillar like I did, less than a month after bringing it home still with dealer plates on it LOL

I haven't even washed mine in about 4 months.....it's a truck. The "cover" thing gave me my daily dose of humor.
