I used Fram filters for years. The last one I bought had a pin hole in it. I haven't used one since. I use Purolator Pure One's on the Titan.

The recommended oil is 5W/30. If you live in a warm climate, 0 weight is useless, but won't hurt anything. Fram filters are taboo! Junk! Crap!....need I say more? The high end Fram oil filter is just ok but the regular orange Fram is garbage.

That's a very good link. After I read that a couple of years ago, I walk by the Fram section and laugh now.
I stick with Mobil1 filters and oil.
I do have to admit, I did install a Fram SureDRAIN, and enjoy every bit of it.

Fram filters have the least amount of filtering area and use plastic where others use metal. I put one on too (because I couldn't find another filter at Pep Boys) and replaced it the 2nd time around with a NAPA gold (WIX) filter.
I also stocked up on Walmart SuperTechs filters. @ 2.07 each, they aren't bad price wise and are a decent filter according to what I read.

Those looking at the Castrol 0W-30, keep in mind that there are US made and German made versions. Look on the back of the bottle to see where it is made before purchasing as the US versions are true synthetics.

Just a question out of curiosity. Why if Nissan recommends 5W-30 oil would someome use 0W-30? Where is the benefit?

A couple reasons:
a - for synthetics, the GC 0w-30 is one of the best out there and readily available at most AutoZone stores
b - compared to Mobil-1, the 30 weight is a true 30 weight, not like Mobil-1 which is barely a 30 weight and once it is cycled through a few times becomes a high 20 weight oil
c - it's fuel effecient
d - if it's good enough for Mercedes and BMW (GC 0w-30 only) it's good enough for my Titan

It's thinner at start-up but unless you live in a VERY cold climate?....absolutely NO benefit. And Mobil 1 not being 30 weight or changing to a high 20 weight?....I think someones been reading competitors ads again...lol. BMW and MB both recommend Mobil 1 5W/30 with 15k mile change intervals.

nope, not ads - forums where people have been posting their oil analysis results
oil whether it is synthetic or dino loses it's viscosity over time and 30 weight oil becomes 20 weight

Sorry have to disagree with the BMW comment they are Castrol only as is their mini line. Not sure about MB though...
