Thumbs up No regrets

I bought this Lightning new in '01 and kept it clean. It would turn some heads (the Bassani's helped out there) and I really enjoyed driving it. But you know, I was ready to move on to something else, a little more practical. So I traded it in on the Titan. To my surprise I have gotten more thumbs up and comments on the Titan in 2 months than I did on the Lightning. I just wanted to share this because I think it has some merit. And I don't mind the extra money for gas because I have a lot more interior room, smoother ride and good looks to boot. Hell yeah.

New Titan

That Lightning looked great! I can't imagine not getting nods in that rig...

Congratulations on the purchase of the Titan. I assume you bought it because you had more stuff to haul, needed more room, and because you think Titan Talk forum members are too cool!

That's a nice lightning man. I always loved those. Hey you have any more pics from the side. And what other mods did you do your ride? But sweet ride man.

What are your thoughts on the power/torque etc.. when both are compared.

I know at the track, the L's usually kill my ET's by about 1.5 seconds. I'd love one, if they only offered them in 4WD/AWD.

Actually I was surprised at the Titan's performance. The L certainly had a lot more low end torque. But, the Titan also weighs at least 500lbs more, so the seat-of-the-pants feeling is not too accurate in this case. Two different trucks, built for two different reasons. Overall I would rate the Titan high in performance.
That's why I don't really understand all the complaints about gas mileage. For the most part, horsepower and gas consumption run hand in hand. I would say the Titan earns it's meals.
